I got my new Belt CP, upgrading from a Walkera 22E. I read through some other threads but have some more questions, the instructions that come with these are horrible.

1. What does the Gyro SW switch do on the control?
2. What does the toggle switch on the right side do? I know the left is 3D to normal mode.
3. Should I remove the plastic cover from the ESC? Seems to me that heat sink doesn't do much good under the plastic.
4. What is the round thing on the lower port side of the heli?
5. Where is the best place to put the receiver antenna?
6. What is the best way to secure the battery? It didn't come with any heavy duty rubber bands.

Thanks

1. Nothing if you have a standard rate gyro (Simply fat round silver gyro) / Switches from Headhold to Rate and vice versa on the HH Gyro (Slim Black Gyro)
2. Trainer switch for a buddy lead.
3. Yes and No. Just cut a small section out of the heatsink side
4. Ferrite bead / ring reduces interferance.
5. Along a tube towards the rear of the heli, you should see 2 loops / rings in the skids for the antenna tube.
6. Velcro.

Hope it helps, you'll be amazed at the difference from youe 22E

Got the heli flying. No adjustment necessary. It actually was RTF, I got it from Xheli. Done about 6 batteries of hovering, no crashes, a couple of close calls. A few more questions.

1. The instructions for charging the battery say it should not take longer than 2 hours. I seem to be getting about 10 mins out of the 1800 Mah. I stop if it feels like it is getting weak, but then when I charge it after two hours the green light is still blinking. Anyone else notice this? Should I just get a better charger?

2. Sometimes it feels like I will never improve and be able to fully fly this thing. Will it just click one day? How long should it take?

I have the same problem with my charger, i just let it go it takes about 4 hrs usually which is a bit of a joke! apparently it has something to do with the charger no thinking it has been charged yet or something.
As for your flying everyone is different usually. I have had my belt cp for about a month and i can fly alright accept for when the heli is coming at me. lol i have had a 4ch for along time before this one but.
keep practising!

It usually take 4 or 5 charges before your battery reaches full power, so you should get a little longer flight times out of the batt after 4 or 5 charges. My charger stock E-sky charger also takes about 4 hrs to full charge. I think it must take an hour or so to balance the cells equally, then it starts to actually charge all of them ?????

The Esky chargers charge @ a claimed 0.8A which in fact is probably nearer 0.5A
To charge an 1800mah in 1 hour you'd need 1.8A (1c charge)
Therefore in 2hrs = 0.9A (0.5c charge)
If it's taking 4hrs well you can do the maths.

Take a timer with you, restrict your flights to 10mins for now, you can probably increase it to 12 or 15mins after the battery has had a good few cycles.
DO NOT use a mobile phone as a timer !

Everybody has a different learning curve so times will vary,

Radds school of rotary flight will help you enormously, just don't cheat !

Radds can be found HERE

A better charger is always a good idea as are more batteries.

Hope this helps and come back a let us know how you get on.

I have 3 ESky LiPo chargers, 1 I've never used but the other 2 are really different. 1 will fully charge my Belt CP battery in about 3hrs or so, where as the other charger will take almost 4 1/2 hrs to charge my smaller HBK II battery. I have since bought this charger and love it, especially for the price
