I read a great point in another post a while back that was simply, "Running your rc is only half of the hobby.....the other half is working on it." I have taken my hurricane apart a few times just to clean it up good. My cane cooked the steering servo after only 3 hours of run time.....I did not write any nasty posts or even seek free replacement parts, I did what most do and bought a new part that was much better than the old one. Hope you rethink your feelings towards redcat cause I would hate to think you may end up angry over a more expensive brand car without the redcat's caliber of support to back it up.

well yes i have been doing that to everytime i run! but it is the actual parts! my one waybering went so i cant run anymore! the spur gears go like mad when i am jumping, and the diff, pinion gears have gone twice from just jumping! the plastic pipe cracked and i had to throw it out!, my fuel tank cracked and i had to throw it out tooo! ARRGGG!!! and the one thing that is PEEING ME OFF! is that there are philips head screws! they should be robinson heads (the square ones) or allen screws! not philips! they strip too easily! i have never striped a robinson one! EVER! so i will go to my hardware store (for you canadians! RONA!) and find some screws with a agresive thread and in robinson screws!

You are rarely going to find "Robertson" heads on anything made outside of canada. The screw was invented by a canadian and for some reason (even though they are the superior choice) they aren't accepted as the "norm".
Oh yeah!!! Home Hardware is far better than Rona!!!!!....and the fact that I work there has nothing to do with my opinion.

The way this thread is going is driving me crazy. I am new to nitro, bought a 1/10th. I had it for 2 days before i even ran it. I went over the truck twice before i did anything. I adjusted all the linkages to preform the best, did all the screws, adjusted the slipper/mesh etc.(you know the list) 2 weeks later My freind got his.....within 30 min he had fuel in it and got it started. by the end of the day he lost 2 dogbones, the set screw out of 2 of his drive cups stripped spur and one of the cups.

I have seen a few people get these things new (different brands) the different ways they treated and took care of them shows why most things happened and the condition of the trucks are in now.

Are you using locktite on metal to metal screws, are you landing with the throttle ahead. I agree with the roberts screws but I`ve yet to strip a philips push harder and use the right size screwdriver lol. As for the pipe was there a screw loose and as for the cracked tank, did you tighten down the screws that holds the tank if you did thats proably why it cracked. Sounds to me like your bashing hard core, and not reading the forums. Everything I have asked has been gone over in the past week about broken gears and tanks and such. Only thing I have broken is my front bumper and 2 bodies all due to bad driving And I own 3 redcats, Monsoon, Tsunami, and a hurricane I run my hurricane without a bumper and I know I shouldn`t but I keep it in the baseball field and don`t bash.

Just to lt you know a Robertson screw (square head) is a Canadian invention. From Milton Ontario. It is a great screw but will never gain acceptance anywhere else in the world unless the US adopts it. They probably wont, they have a stupid love afair with the philips for some stupid reason. By the way, what home hardware do you work for? I am the manager of one.lol

Dude, I feel for ya. I think you were just super unlucky in being the recipient of that actual vehicle. Odd defects comes just as often from major brands - even Toyota and Honda makes the occasional lemon. However, I do agree with you that it is unacceptable that Redcat won't do the servicing themselves for that particular defect on a new vehicle, but I don't know the circumstances of how the vehicle was purchased.
Have you tried communicating with the owner Darin on this forum?
I think once you get your current issues straightened out, you'll be happy with your Redcat. Good luck.

Get over it you picked the hobby all trucks break down stop with the f`n sob stories, and just fix it or get out of the hobby. I have a saying suck it up princess and I stand by it.Grow some or maybe plant some flowers

Ok, I think that I'm going to put a stop to this thread. The original poster has stated his problems and opinions on his vehicle, and others have had the chance to comment as well. I see this thread just turning in to a manufacturer bashing session, which isn't appropriate for a Manufacturer Support Forum. I think this thread as pretty much ran it's course so I'm going to lock the thread.
