Do I have to use e-sky blades on my hbk2? My LHS doesn't carry e-sky and I was wondering if I went and found another brand of blades that were close to the same size if I could use them?

Thanks

as long as they fit yes. the king blades are 275mm stock. its really hard to find these blades at your local hobby store. i suggest you stay with that size for this heli. stock up those blades. jaghobbies have bundles you can buy to save a few bucks. they are reliable and reasonbly quick shippment. and they're in the USA. . ka-planes also carrys them but dont bundle them like jaghobbies but they ship very quick. usually 3 days max.

I believe the E-flight blade will fit. I bought some E-flight 325 blades for my belt cp. The root end was exactly the same as the stock E-sky blades.

brac he has the king2. the king2 will defintely not fly well with the 325's on it. i think the other eflite blade for the eflite cp is 255mm. its a little to short with the 255's or a little to long with 315's or 325's.

I realize the 325's would be too big, thought maybe E-flight had a 285 blade??? I think that you are correct. I think the lhs did only have like 255's or something.

anything aroudn 265~300mm is all right. Just be aware, heavier the blades, hotter your batt, esc and motor gets.

I've bought sets of blades from Fleabay and gotten some good deals... You have to know what you are buying tho.

I bought 5 sets for about $15 plus 10-15 bucks shipping. Which for woodies is ok... the really cheap ones that are black and 'look' like carbon fibre blades... are foamies. They work, will take a bit of beating but are limited.

Lots of blades for accidents, cheap enough to learn with especially. Going with tougher blades , ie plastics etc, means more torque applied to shafts and other parts if you get strikes. Translates into more costlier broken pieces. I'd stay with the softer blades, like woodies, because when you get strikes I've found there are fewer bent and broken parts afterwards. Just get a lot of wood shrapnel which can be spectacular at times...

But thats just my opinion.

If you email cwtco direct they will cut you a deal on blades if you buy like 20 sets at once (40 blades). They will combine the shipping.

I sold my extras to the LHS and that more then paid for my own.

Thanks for all the info. I'm going to see what lengths the LHS has next time I'm there. I'm going to order some from the web for now though.

See if your LHS has blades for a venom 3dxl they will work. I have used them ,they are a fiber composite and will take a few hits. You just need to shim them to fit the HBK2 head. I beleive they are 288mm, work pretty good. if you use 315 or 325mm blades they will strike the tail blades.

I like to use either the align 315 or325 pro blades.Ill cut the to size at end that goes into the blade grip.Ill out line the contour of a blade get the contour close using a razor blade
then finish it up by using a dremal with a round sanding disk.I like them better that the esky blades and the LHS alway has them instock
