Hi,
What are the advantages of the Losi Insane motors over the Frenzy? Increased RPM or Torque? What gears would be best for longer runtimes? I have in stock both 20T and 23T pinions and 50T and 54T spur gears. I think stock is 23/54. What would be the best combo for the Insanes? Thanks a lot for your help.

Don't bother with the Insane motors, I did once and it was like taking my money and throwing it down the toilet. Save up a little more and buy a 6800kv brushless system.

No gearing option I tried with the Insanes could make them do anything impressive.

I agree. They are way overpriced. Brushless costs are going down too. You wont regret going brushless.

Don't buy a mamba. They are fail in an MLST.

Get a Wraith 7k/Quark pro car 33a system. You can run 3s on the standard gearing for trippy speeds.

Mamba package uses a small can motor designed for trucks like the mini-t, M18t, rc18t etc. All of these trucks have wheels and tires half the size and are overall half the weight of an MLST. A 7k Wraith motor will kick the crap out of a Mamba 6800v motor.

I've had dozens of people I know run a mamba system in a mini lst with no problems. The wraith is a good motor I have one in my mini inferno but, the mamba would do just fine also.

Maybe it does just fine, but it's nowhere near as good as a Wraith. Simple fact is it'd be like swapping a Vtech Honda motor into an Escalade. Having to swap down to a 15t pinion to stop the motor from melting does not give me the image of a perfectly married truck and motor.

There are MANY successful cases of people running mambas in the MLST, umm Castle Creations pro 1/18 driver winning time and time again with a 8000kv Mamba isn't proof? Saying not to get a Mamba is silly talk.

But personally I like the Hyperion 6000kv and Wraith 7k in the MLST, it has more grunt.

Your better off getting a mamba. At least if you do have problems, you will have customer service to help you. Quark/S&T customer service is basically non existant

I have been running a mamba on my MMB for2 weeks and have had no trouble. Using the castle link I have been able to get things to run very well with out issue of overheating on 22/60 gearing.... You just can't push them in a MLST like you can on a Mini T with out fine tuning and watching your temps.
