On a Viper XET, what do you recommend for grease inside the differential case (where the planetary gears are)? What kind of lube do you use inside the gear box on the outside of the differential case (where the ring gear and pinion gear mesh)? I have been using just a general purpose lithium grease like you use in a grease gun for your car or tractor. But I do not know that it is good for the plastic. I do like the stiffness of that grease since it seems to give a bit more "posi-trac." I was thinking to maybe use a heavier grease in the rear for traction and a lighter grease in front for steering. Any input from your experience would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Bryan

there isn't much you can do for the pinion and ring gear. the case isn't sealed. but for inde the diff carrier i use extreme pressure grease i think it's red made by valvoline. for the front you would want a lighter grease, like maybe regular diff grease i'm not sure on the weight of it maybe someone else can chime in and say which would be best for the front.

Bk.....
I dont think you need to worry about the Plastic being Sensitive to Petroleum Based grease...
I've used all sorts of greases in My Viper to no ill effect.......
Right now, I'm using some very thick Automotive axle grease (Pep Boys Auto Parts) inside my Rear Diff Capsule and on the Ring and Pinion.
Up Front, I use a lighter Bearing grease that I found at work...

Sorry....I know this answer is not very Scientific, But I tend to WING IT, when it comes to the Viper.....Lol.
