Hello All,
This is my first post on the RC Universe forums and although I have been reading on it for a while, I just now signed up. Anyways, myself and one of my friends just decided to get into 1/10 4wd touring cars. He bought an HPI Sprint 2 (it is his first hobby-grade r/c). After only the 3rd run (literally, the 3rd run) the small belt towards the rear of the car is shredding apart. He has made no adjustments and no modifications to the car out of the box. I have two 2wd electric off road trucks but i have never messed with any belt driven 4wd system so I don't know whats wrong with it. The three runs were not hard runs either. He's running a Trinity 3600nimh 6cell battery and he did not do any forward-reverse newbie slams w/it. Is it just too tight? There didn't appear to be anything that could have been rubbing on the belt. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure there aren't any small rocks wedged anywhere in the chassis, that could be rubbing on the belt.

Other than that, just push on the belt, see if it feels too tight, there should be a little play in it.

Small pebbles under the rear diff are the usual suspect.
