Status: offline 		The latest Dick Watz column in RCR has a picture of a dummy radial engine made from 10 Ni-Cd cells. This technique seems a natural for A123 cells. I am going to make a 5 cylinder dummy radial for my Lazy Ace. It will be a 8s1p battery. I will make one cylinder with 1" dowel since my ECS will not take more than 8 cells.

Status: offline 		Why the dummy cell? Radial engines have an odd number of cylinders in each bank. Tex.

I have finished the engine. For each of the five positions I have two cells except at the bottom two where I have a dummy cell. I have an 8s1p battery. The dummy cells make a good place for the connections. It looks like a real radial engine if you don't get too close.
I will post pictures if I can get my camera to take a decent picture of it.
I plan to fly it on a 60" Lazy Ace. It solves the problem of where to put all of those batteries and keep them cool.
I am thinking of a DR1 with 9 cylinders

I have no idea. I did a google search on 6 cylinder radial engines and found at least three types. One is the Sadler ultra light engine. It didn't say what the fireing order was.

One could do a plausable model of a Le Rhone-Rotary- which actually spun
think about it -
IFyou are into the new Spektrum2.4 radio- you could include a rx in the engine setup
with two rx type such as the 6100 it may work even in the proximity of the batts and motor
or - make a good "signal " from the ESC(in the motor assy ) to the rx.
Scale guys should love this .

Ah! The Sadler is actually 2 banks of three cylinders. That makes sense to me now.
A single bank of six cylinders in four stroke cycle wouldn't work. Tex.
