So last night I was digging through some of my old buggy parts and found this clutch new in a bag. So I decided to put it on my C6. I installed the engine today and was running my truggy around and wow what a great clutch. I can adjust it for all kinds of track conditions. Man I wish I would have found this thing earlier this year. Does anyone else have any experience with them? Lets hear what you all think about them.

there decent for a race .21....but anything with some serious power and i would look into some allum shoes....and the fact the adjustment nut works here and there....potentially locking up the clutch and Squashing the shoes is kinda a downside.

I'm running it with a modified RB C6 I thought it had serious power but I might be wrong. I've been running it all day about 1/2 gallon and been adjusting it to see how it reacts and so far it's doing great but I'll give it a few races before I make a final judgement but like I said so far I love this thing. As far as aluminum shoes, I'm not a real big fan of having to do clutch work every time I run my truggy. But if this clutch setup doesn't work the way I want it to I'll have to switch back.

I am not a engine pro but, Don't race .21's have a crapload of power? I have seen a few V-spec's and a ninja .21 and they flat out fly. Correct me if I am wrong.

its the Low end Tire Churning power of Very Few .21's and most .28's that are the culprit.

Only thing I dont like about any of those clutch like this one, to many things can go wrong and in rc racing, chances are they will. I had one last year and used it for local club races, but for the pro series or state series, I used a three shoe set up.
A fella can alter a 3 shoe set up uaen 2 gold and one black spring, or 2 black and one gold spring and wont need to worry about how its going to react next round or in a main. I suppose for what little pluses it has, the draw backs are twice that of a standard set up.

I day of racing with this clutch and it held up great. Once I had it adjusted the way I wanted it the thing never had to be adjusted again the whole day. I'm taking the truggy apart tonight to clean it and check wear I'll update on how it looks. So far this is going to be my new truggy clutch. I hope this thing holds up.

i am only familar with regular clutches but i think this is similar to a centax clutch. please tell me if i am right or not

viper463 -> RE: Werks Power Clutch (5/14/2008 3:45:08 AM)

very similar but made for off road use. A centax clutch is to open for offroad use it would get fouled up by the dirt very quicky.
