Status: offline 		I have been out of helis. for about 20 years.My last helicopter (competitor .60) I still have,but I think the company is out of bis.I recently bought a blade 400. I love the way it flys,but it is small and hard to see once I get into forward flight. I am thinking about a T Rex 600 electric or a Bergen Intrepid gasoline heli. I like the electric,but with the large electric choppers you can get into lots of cash just having a few lipos,and a good charger. With an airplane I prefer glow over electric since I seem to have good luck keeping nitro engines running and tuned.What are the pros and cons between the T-Rex 600 and a Bergan intrepid Gasoline. The T-Rex seems cheaper,but after getting a few large lipos and a good charger I think would be close to being able to get a good used Intrepid.

Status: offline 		Bergen Gasser is a pretty ambitious project, are you sure something like a Raptor 50 or Trex 600N (nitro) wouldn't be a better choice?

Status: offline 		You are right,big project,but I had my eye on a Bergen in the classified,also a few TRex 600 Nitro's in the classifieds also.I do not plan on putting a new one together,but was looking at used,but pretty close to RTF.I am capable of fixing when I crash,but have too many hobbies/projects and don't have time to start from scratch.Seems to be a few used T Rex nitros with low time in the classifieds also. I am actually leaning towards the Bergen because of its size,hopeing it would be easier to see.I guess since the blade 400 can be used for quick flights just about anywhere I may lean towards getting a gas or glow heli.

Status: offline 		The Bergen gasser would be a great choice, speaking from past experence. Chris willl be willing to help you in most every way to help insure that you get it up and running perfect. I didnt find anything different or all that special about gas that couldnt also apply to glow models, other than a crash will be more costly, but if your carefull, you should keep those to a min. In any event, if you find any oppornunity to own a Bergen machine you'll be a better modeler for what you learn from it in what a quality heli should build and fly like.

Status: offline 		i have a older JR z230 gasser and i love it as it flys forever on a tank of gas and since i don't use pump gas but camp gas (Colman) it doesn't smell so the wife doesn't mind if its in the house i fly it as much as any of my raptors.
