I stripped the set screw in the square piece on the brake cam. It is loose now and wont stay in the brake discs. Any suggestions on how to get set screw out or what to do?

Easy ones, the set screws, just drill it through being careful not to touch the threads, and use a pin to pick out whatever remains. Alternatively, buy a new set screw and a new square, and while you're at it, a decent hex driver. [;)]

EDIT: Reverse drill bit might get it out in one piece, another option is CAing the driver into the stripped head (burn it off after, but in a well ventilated area, as CA smoke has heavy amounts of Cyanide in it. If it goes in your eye it can blind you immediately).

WARNING don't burn anything with all that plastic around. Drilling out is the only option. if you get it out wrecking the threads just put a bigger set screw in.

I said to burn off the CA on the driver, if you decide to try CAing the driver into the screw head, not to burn any parts on the car. Of course you're right, IF you have the plastic brake carrier, don't burn anything attached to the car, though I can't think of any reason anybody would want to burn something to solve this issue. [&:]

I did want to throw the whole thing across the garage when it happened, but burning it up didn't cross my mind...yet

The cheap chinese setscrew will drill out easily with an ordinary HSS drill bit (these strip out all the time). Be careful not to drill into the layshaft. I would replace it with a new brake square and if the new square comes with a setscrew you should throw that setscrew away! DO NOT replace it with the same cheap setscrew that it originally used! You should be able to get a good hardened steel setscrew at your LHS from Dubro, Great Planes, HPI, or Losi. Just make sure you are getting the right size and thread pitch. Only use a little blue threadlocker to install these as the red will harden in there like cement. Good luck. [;)]
