Hello all,

I bought a HBCP2 couple days ago but didn't have time to fly it. Yesterday, I took the heli out of the box and try with the transmitter. Unluckily, I touched the switch on the left of the transmitter and the heli flied very fast and hit the wall. I then did some searches on the forum and started to know how to use the transmitter. There was no guide with it when I opened the box. That was why I crashed the heli right after taking it out the box.

Now the main blades of the heli are broken. And I also think there is some problem with the structure that holds the main blades and fly bars. It vibrates when the rotor is running.

I'm now writing this, hope that any of you could advise me something to make it work. Beside the main blades, do I need to replace any other parts? And can I take the parts out myself (the structure on top - I don't know how to call it)?

Thanks,
Thai.

(Sorry for my writing, I'm Vietnamese).

well, that switch is called idle switch, I always, ALWAYS advise people not to flick it towards you. Sorry but we can't help you too much over the internet unless we can see the damage visually. If you could post a couple pictures that you think have damage, we'll be able to help you.

Hi homeunt,

Thank you. Can you tell me when to use that IDLE switch? I'm sorry that I don't have a camera to take some pictures of the heli to post here. Basically, its main blades are broken. I will order a new pair of blades soon to replace these blades. However, I'm afraid that the spindle shaft is also broken because the heli vibrates very strong when the motor is working. I'm just worried that I don't know how to take the parts out to replace it. It seems to me that the parts can easily be taken apart but I don't know how. Could you show me how to do that?

And do you know any sites that sell cheap spare parts for this ESCP2?

Thanks,
Thai.

Until you think you can fly the heli up side down....NEVER use the idle up switch.

You probably bent the feathering shaft and probably bent the main shaft. They are pretty easy to replace. Check out the Nuttcaze videos on you tube, maybe they will help.

Can u tell me which transmitter r u using?? is it a mode 1 or mode 2?? and what channel? is it 4 or 6?? idle is apply b4 u flew the heli's that is to ensure it wont fly suddenly it like a throttle if u pull up the heli's will take off and if u pull down the heli's will remain at the ground that is what we call idle correct me if im wrong..

if u using a mode 1 the throttle and aileron stick is on ur left hand side and the right hand side is for rudder and elevator stick and if ur transmitter is mode 2 it opposite, talking about idle there is 2 possibilities either ur throttle trim lever is up or ur throttle stick is up which n which im not sure ur exact problem? ok some tips regarding the idle...idle down is actually to slow the spins the normal (higher idle) setting (when idle down is off) this is for engine starting and not for electric and for electric it normally in the center for throttle trim lever and it was beside the throttle stick set it at center and if the throttle trim lever for ur transmitter is in the center so u have to make sure ur throttle stick is down b4 take off...

uh, Guncobra, all CP helis are 6ch

Longtongfish - another way of explaining the Idle up switch, when you pull the switch towards you, the heli goes into "Idle Up" or basically full throttle, before I finish that first in normal mode, switch away from you, the pitch of the main rotor blades increases (providing lift) as the throttle increases. Now in "Idle Up" Mode the throlle is locked at 100%, the throttle stick no longer controlls the throttle but only the pitch of the main blades, now generally you want your throttle stick in the middle before flicking the idle up switch on (you should almost be at lift off when at half throttle in normal mode) the reason for having the throttle stick in the middle is because in "idle Up" mid stick is 0 degrees pitch, the heli isn't going up or down (again at mid stick) now when pushing the throttle stick forwards it gives positive pitch (makes the heli lift) and when you push the throttle stick below the mid stick mark you are giving the heli negative pitch (sending crashing straight into the ground "unless" you are upside down, the whole reason for the switch), not sure if that helps any in understanding what the switch does.

There is a huge difference between the HBCP and HBK II, the HBCP uses the same frame as the HBFP, very small light frame, where as the HBK II has a beefier frame it also uses a belt driven tail instead of a seperate motor for the tail rotor. Heres a vid about the HBK II I made -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws9WaJ2eISg
and to get an idea about the HBFP/CP frame watch this vid, its about the HBFP but the CP has the same frame just different head assembly -
