well today i went out to the park for a bash, and i must say i hate my savage, it will not brake i have tried everything but running it into a wall to brake it, the most i had problems with is my stripping my brakes screw whole.

anyways yes i got a video, 2 but the other is not up yet but here is a un-edited just put right up on you tube bash.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzoQOpHsmcI

spec's:
jr xr2i
cen steering server
spectrum throttle servo
hpi polished pipe
2 speed
NO Brakes

let me know what you think guys, oh and when the tank ran out, i did a temp check and it was at a cool 260.

I see in your signature you are running the Hpi polished pipe. That really surprises me, I could not get mine to pull any serious rpm and it kept going lean on that pipe. Those Piccos sure sound sweet! I do not think my Picco 28 ever ran that long without flipping over backwards over the wheelie bar. Maybe I need to learn a little lighter trigger control. Thanks, for the video! BB

That is just wrong! That is not a shelf queen and he obviously has no plans to abandon ship. What is a Revo anyway? BB

Joe, what gearing are you running? The truck seems to be making an awful lot of noise and getting nowhere fast Looks like it has tons of torque at its disposal, but the top end is weak. Can you post a vid sometime soon with top speed passes? My Savage is friggin scary at WOT I thought those crazy nut brakes were working out for you Tom.

I was wanting to try this but got another case.....so maybe you can try.

For the bottom brake screw, you can drill completely through the trans case..with a long enough bolt you can put a nut on the far side..maybe a 2 1/2 - 3 inch bolt.

For the top screw use LOCTITE POWER GRAB...that stuff is amazing.

Fill the hole.

oil up a screw smaller in diameter then the 1 you need to use ( so the product wont stick to it)

screw it into the hole.

let it tack up.

then remove and let dry completely.

then screw in the old screw.

That will hold the brakes!
I think....LMK

I'll give this a try. but its the top hole, and 3 pieces of zip tie fell in so i was trying to drill them out but i did a bo bo with trying to drill it out while it was still in the truck, the tranny case and i made the hole a bit to wide....

stock is 47, 17. i was using 47, 16. my races i need the best jump from the hole so i gear for acceleration. but it still tops at a good 35- 40+ with the picco. I'm thinking of getting the 3 speed since i really do not use 1st, if i go slow u hear it shift, but from a stand still to wot its like only having 1st. but the 3rd I'm afraid that when i wind up it will shift and will kill my acceleration.
