I just bought a set of tamiya super drifts and they have no traction at all im looking for something with more grip. less whip and more high speed control.

pvc actually has the worst grip u can have....try some hpi t drift... check out genkidoridori.com for some tires

Biggy88 -> RE: Tires (5/12/2008 2:24:05 AM)

Does anyone make a rubber drift tire?

magnat -> RE: Tires (5/12/2008 9:09:57 AM)

I am not sure what you mean ??? the Tamiya Drift Tyres are the hardest to drift with as I think they grip too much....
Without going to a street radial you cant really get a tyre that will offer more grip and still slip...

TIGER76 -> RE: Tires (5/12/2008 12:51:08 PM)

True what the guys are saying tams are the grippyest to buy.
PVC will offer no traction at all sounds like you need a bigger power motor for those long drifts which motor do you use now m8? if its stock maybe try around a 19turn mod motor for speed drifting [8D]

Biggy88 -> RE: Tires (5/13/2008 3:34:06 AM)

I have a 19 turn in it right now i want something to handle corners at higher speed. and be able to stop big thing stop not spin out of control whe u let out of the throttle but that mit be car setup.

khumbmela -> RE: Tires (5/13/2008 9:46:21 AM)

use pvc drill some holes then fill it up with glue

xzavin -> RE: Tires (5/13/2008 1:41:00 PM)

oops didnt see part of that, yea PVC is good for P-Lot and if you add glue that works but you gotta re-glue a lot so yeah HPI makes hard compound tires for drifting and i love em, good luck drifting at fast speeds lol....good luck though.

Biggy88 -> RE: Tires (5/13/2008 5:05:59 PM)

Are the hpi's a rubber tire?

xzavin -> RE: Tires (5/14/2008 5:57:25 PM)

yep, they great drift tires (im selling my car =( but yea i love em)

Biggy88 -> RE: Tires (5/15/2008 2:10:09 AM)

cool thanks thats what i was looking for.

islandturbos -> RE: Tires (5/15/2008 1:20:32 PM)

Try the yokomo HG hard rubber tires. The yokomo ones with the plastic ring in the middle is not to bad as well you can get some speed with it and roast the hell out of the tires as well, good all around. But i heard good things about the yokomo High grip drift rubber tires, should be getting them in by the ending of next week. I run a 19t as welll

islandturbos -> RE: Tires (5/18/2008 12:26:33 AM)

Well i tried the yokomo HG rubber drift tires, THEY SUCK!!. Grip too much, i think it would work for nitro though. I am running a 19T with a upgraded esc, I gona try those tires with my Redcat brushless kit soon, but i think it still will grip..
