Hiya Tankers, since days ago I'm renewing my Tiger and after some adventures with more powerful motors in order to move my metal puppy through more difficult terrain, the last step was to change the rx13 board (more practical than to change the damn MP4104) and when I mounted all seems go ok except than as soon I begin to move the throttle control to move the motors these begin to whistle even they function, I changed the motors and with another ones do the same... With the old boards didn't... Do you think that the board is defective? I double checked the board and all seems fine...
By the way, anyone know how to check the MP4104 and the MP4021? Seems rather easy to be burn (In two boards I burn this and the H1357 always, last one even with a BIG heat sink with TWO fans...)
Any help would be extremely welcome.

I tried the jamara 480 but I burn the first board... and the second! then now I'm trying with jamara pro 400 and it seems that is less heating inthe board (I've installed a big heatsinks with two fans to redirect the air).
About the whistle... yes, I could define the sound like a stall sound, just that the motors sing even when run... do you have any idea? I don't have more boards to test

It sounds to me like you are aproaching this with the wrong attitude towards coming up with the idea of gaining more power with bigger motors to compensate for a heavy tank in addition to subjecting it to even harsher terraine. The HL boards were most likely designed to work with the size motor in the tank you buy stock.Bigger motors and more weight has to create more amp draw than these boards are most likely able to handle. If this is the case you will continue to burn up your boards.

BIGMIGs on the right track. Whilst you're trying to compensate for the extra strain and heat created, all it takes is a decent stall and their goes your boards again. Are you running reduction gearboxes? I've seen people running reduction gearboxes and big motors, I think its because the tank is near impossible to stop and theirfor greatly reduces the chance of a stall, so the boards live...

yes, I know that, after to read a lot in this forum, I'm already waiting the reduction box (even my tiger runs with a brass gearboxes) but I read too that some are mounting 400's motors with cooler without problem (3,5A). My problem is that if I mount the old board the motors don't whistle even the forward in one motor doesn't function due to the blown transistor, and with the new one the motors sing a lot. In this new board there is anything that is wrong, my doubt is if to buy two more to keep trying or to finish the history picking the elmod set for big motors and then install the 480, I would like to keep all the features of the original HL but with more power.
