would this 1:8 MT be able to be set up to race in a MT class?

HimotoRacingUSA -> RE: Mega P (5/11/2008 9:27:43 PM)

its 2 speed and i think you need single speed to race, i may be wrong but besides that i dont see why not, it handles real well, very stable for such a large truck.

supamagician -> RE: Mega P (5/11/2008 9:37:12 PM)

i want one and they are 280 but if i get one i have to trade someone that for my e-firestorm wich i have about 390 into it on a new esc, 5000 nimh and 3300nimh batts and a charger. the reciever needs replaced. but if i findsomeone willing to trade, then i will get this truck. is there a way to make it single speed?

Eddie would one of those center differentials work in that? Thats all they use to race [:-]

HimotoRacingUSA -> RE: Mega P (5/11/2008 11:12:53 PM)

the center diff would fit but then its not a monster truck anymore, its a truggy, thats what makes the difference between a truck and truggy, center diff and transmission.

you can just lock down the shifter so it stays in first gear but try selling your rc on the buy and sell here on the forums, i have gotten a few things off here. I dont think you will get anywhere near $390 for it though.

yeah i put it up and some guy wants to trade me for a revo. im not sure if that sounds to good to be true or not

If you used a Slightly smaller Tire, (You would probably want a Soft, Pin style Tire for racing anyhow), you could set the Tranny up to Short Shift.
That way, you would get 1st Gear for the Holeshot, and Exiting the tight corners, but most of the time the truck would be in 2nd gear.
2nd gear (with the smaller tire diameter) might be Smoother on the Track anyway.
