Hey Def,

Good for you! Just put the accident behind you, and chalk it up as experience (or lack thereof...LOL).

Yeah, I noticed that the brass insert is a little too tall, making the blades a little floppy.

Good idea on the little washers, I'll keep that in mind!

My CPP was flying like crap yesterday, I am going to see if I can get it flying any better today.

Have fun with your hovering practice!

Keep in touch,

Glenn

Hey Def,

Hopefully, the wind will be calm for you today. The wind really blows the smaller helis around alot. I dislike flying in the wind, but I realize that if I wait for perfect conditions, I'll never get any practice in!

Yep, I did get a new CPP...and am already using it...as a spare parts heli! I stole the servos out of it, as my new ones did not come in the mail yesterday. I also needed the little carbon rod for the rear canopy mount, I lost mine...once again, go get one off of the new/spare heli....really comes in handy!

I might upgrade it when the new parts come out for the CPP 2...don't know yet. Depends on when the CPP 2 is available.

Plus, now I have another brand new battery pack...

Have fun hovering, and try to not have any hard landings...I'm still not sure if the new blades are what is causing my tailboom strikes or not...let me know how you make out.

Hopefully, the blades are not the cause. But, I think they might be more prone to tailboom strikes because of their heavier weight. But, the extra weight is great for making the heli more stable, and easier to fly.

You will notice that the blades are slower to spin up, and take longer to spin down, this is normal, and is what makes them more flyable, they act like a gyroscope, making the inputs on the right stick (cyclic) slower, and more predictable.

Have fun!

Glenn

Hey Def,

Did you ever get around to installing the extra flybar weights?

Just curious, they will help alot as well...

just got back from flying, It wasnt to windy out which was nice, but like 96 degrees out, very hot out, I did alright today, not broken blades or anything, did some hovering not to much since I havent flown in over a week, my heli though when giving it throttle to hover when looking from the rear turns to the right, ill have to read up in the manual what that is. But all in all decent day, I did install the flybar weights and it seems more stable, I think I need to space them out a tiny bit because there seems like there is alittle vibration when spinning up. but all in allo a good day

Hey Def,

That sounds awesome...always a good thing to not have any crashes! Glad you got some practice in.

I am getting ready to go flying in a bit...hoping the wind will die down some when it gets closer to sundown. It's very hot here too. That's the other reason I'm waiting to go fly..lol.

I just got done flying my CX2 inside, I'd forgotten how much fun it is to fly! When is yours supposed to arrive? I havn't flown my CX2 in quite a while, I have gotten alot better with it since I last flew it. I should fly it more often.

The blades may be a little out of balance, or the flybar weights might need adjusting for the vibration. Does it still vibrate the training gear when it's hovering? Or it just shakes some on spool up? Some shake on spool up is normal, and you shouldn't be concerned unless you can see the training gear balls shaking when hovering.

When the heli goes to the right, do you mean the tail goes right, or the heli takes off to the right, like sideways? Sounds like just an adjustment.

Glad to hear that you got some time in!

Enjoy the CX2 when it comes in...I'm sure you will like it!

Take it easy, and have fun!

Glenn

It only vibrates when you ease into the throttle, not even hovering still on the ground when you raising the throttle to hover, but maybe it could be the flybar weights. also the turning this is when you rasie the throttle to hover it spins to the right if you looking from the tail, I think it might be an adjust in the esc unit. My cx2 should be in this week and im excited to get it just to have something to fly indoors lol lucky I got in some hovering before, we had a pretty bad thunderstorm here lol hope all goes well flying tonight

Hi Def,

Yeah, it sounds like it just some normal spin-up vibration, most helis do that to some extent, alot of times, it's just the blades getting seated in their flying position. I wound not worry about it unless it seems like it's vibrating alot when in a hover. It sounds like an adjustment on the 3 in 1 for the turning right at a hover. It's explained pretty well in the manual how to adjust it. If you need some help adjusting it, let me know, and I can help walk you through it, if you want.

You will enjoy the CX2, I know I did, and still do, but it's not the same as flying the B400...it will be great for you to learn orientation...it would be good to practice some nose-in and side in hovering when you get comfortable with it. This will make it easier to fly the CPP as well.

Thanks, I had pretty good weather here, just a little breezy. I flew very well, only two battery packs, but I was doing figure 8's, which I have never done before, so it was well worth going out and flying!

I also got my original CPP flying well again, it was one of the servos, the only one I did not replace. I stole the servos out of the new CPP! lol The tail still wasn't acting too well, but I think a new motor would help alot. It was also a little windy, which the CPP doesn't like too much, as you know...

Did ya get the RC cars fixed? Hope there wasn't too much damage. I felt so sorry for you when I read your post today, I was hoping you wouldn't give up! I'm glad that you got back on the horse, so to speak, and put the blades on and flew anyways! Glad it all turned out Ok when you went flying.

So, I have to ask...do you think flying the CPP is harder, easier, or about what you figured on before you got it? Just curious, I hope we didn't mislead you...but if you stick with it, you will get better, and more confident!

Hope your CX2 comes in soon! I hit a wall with mine today...it was fine, just had to straighten the flybar...they are pretty tough!

Keep in touch,

Glenn

deff not giving up, to much fun with the heli's, Only damage to my rc cars was it chopped my antennas right at the base of the recievers, just had to do some soldering and they are fine now, and for the cp pro I kinda figured it was going to be like this trying to fly it, I deff didn't think it was going to be easy after reading all the threads about it and such, but I like the challenge thats the main reason I got into heli's. I was getting bored with my nitro trucks and decided I needed more of a challenge, so thats why I sold some of my nitro truck stuff to get into heli's. I deff can't wait to get my cx2, something I can fly inside

I also got bored with my RC car. There is not much you can do with a car compared to a helicopter. I haven't been bored since I got my helicopters. Have fun with your CPP and soon to come CX2.

Hey Def,

I'm glad to hear that you aren't getting discouraged! I asked the question about how hard you thought it was to fly to see if we gave you good advice...hopefully we did a good job...sounds like we prepared you for just about the right amount of challenge and difficulty. Glad to hear it!

Glad you got the RC cars fixed, I guess it pulled the wire antenna out of the receivers?

Yeah, I too was into the RC cars...and I was actually into the racing part. It ended up getting too serious, people getting all pissed of when they didn't win, or got taken out by a competitor, etc. It really spoiled the whole thing, so I got out of it years ago. It's amazing how seriously people take that kinda thing, especially when they lose!! Plus, I worked at the hobby shop, and more or less got totally burned out of the RC hobby altogether...

I like the helis because there is no pressure to compete, and it's much more of a challenge, as you noted. You can just go at your own pace, and learn slowly if you want.

I am glad to see you are getting the CX2, you will enjoy it.

It's too hot and windy to fly outside today, but I may take the CPP up to work and fly it inside.

Have fun with your helis!

Glenn

yeah you guys deff prepared me for the cp pro, yeah I was heavily into nitro trucks and was going to compete at the local tracks, but kinda got bored with it all together, I still own a few brushless trucks but other then that just my two heli's now. It very hot out today but theres no wind which is perfect, I think I might go fly right before it gets dark so its alittle cooler, Ill update you guys later if I get a chance to fly

well I just got back from a nice hover session, did pretty well this time, was able to hover for longer then 20 seconds at a time, and it was a nice feeling, had about 2 minutes left on my lasy pack and was hover and the wind took it out of nowhere and I busted one of the blades, sucks now im out of blades once again lol going to order like 5 sets of them next time. For rotarydoc I have a few questions for you, when do you know if your main shaft and drive gear is bent, will looking down from the top of the heli will you see a noticable wobble because im seeing that. also I was wondering on the blade grips looking from the side they look like they are bent up alittle like sorta a v while looking at both of them, I notice you can pivot them down or up, is that normal?

thanks
