G-pete, do you know where the airplane restraint devise was made? I had a close call and now having a device like that is top priority for me.

Great looking plane.

Can you supply a little info on the plane restraint that you are using at the field? Any pictures? How is it fastened to the ground etc. Where can you get them.

Yes and no.

G-pete has been helping me with some of the cad design work on the adapter plates and also testing some of the prototypes.

That one on his plane is one of the sample plates and the new reeds, but the actual production plates will have the shafts vertical to make linkage hook up much easier.

Pete's plane runs as good as the real ones but it looks a little odd because of the offset oushrods.

The plane restrain is my design and hold any airplane (not full scale, hehehe)

The measurements are roughly 48 inches long 20 inches tall and 20 inches wide.
Both arms are connected with a ½ inch rod. The rod is in a t-bar, round tube 0.75 inch. The ground tube is about 2 feet in the ground pretty much vertical, this allows a little swivel. On top of the arms is a handle, so you don’t have to bent over to release the airplane.
If I remember I will make some pictures at my next visit to the field.

I'm always surprised when i see the guys cut very close to the cylinders. These motors need cooling as much as possible. The propeller do not cool the engine, it is the rushing air.
Now here in the pictures you see how i cut the cowl. Even with this large opening, you can NOT see them from the side. You have to bring your eyes in about 5 inches above ground.

If you cut symmetrical and in a nice round shape NOBODY ever will notice that.
