Status: offline 		Hi All. I was at the field today and a guy had one of these and it flew great. It weighed only 7 oz. Although it was electric, I don't see any reason a small sure start wouldn't work. It was a nice little plane. http://www.hobby-lobby.com/micro-telemaster.htm

Status: offline 		They only concern I'd have is with electric you can slow it down and it flies real slow. With gas it would be a real screamer. Might be white knuckle.

Status: offline 		It's funny you guys should mention ridiculous powering.....I was just thinking yesterday about doing a thread where I make the rounds with my Cyclon and bolt it to every 1/2A plane that I've got hanging, then take action video.
Some planes would look pretty comical, like the HalfWit, Blink and DNU. There is also a Guillows FW 190 hanging that needs a "wake up call" someday .

Status: offline 		I've got the Micro Telemaster kit that I want power with a PAW .03 as a park flyer. Nice kit for the price. Unfortunately I've only gotten as far as figuring out where to put a new, slightly heftier firewall and beginning to frame up the fuselage. Now it's on the shelf while the bench is full of 1/2A C/L stuff. As slowly as my building usually goes, it will not fly until next summer.

Status: offline 		The photo that shows the ribs makes it look like the spars are either 1/8"x1/8" or 3/16"x3/16". If the spars are 1/8", use spruce and a strong dihedral brace for .049 power. Looks like it would be a great plane and 35-40 mph tops with an average .049.
Wings built this light always need to be checked for twists, I know a flyer of light stuff who brings an iron to the field.

CP. Your right about wing warp. The guy that had the plane that I saw commented about wing warp. To fix it, he put 2 wing braces (threaded push rod) underneath on each side and used clevises on one end of each brace that he could adjust to counter any warp. The braces looked like the ones used on a piper cub. He said he hasn't had any problems since. He said it also made the sings a lot stronger.

Status: offline 		Actually there is a larger version probably better suited for a Sure Start called the Mini Telemaster. 48" wingspan and RTF weight advertised at 20 ounces.
I doubt this one would "shine" with any .049 and would fare better with a Norvel .074 or O.S. LA .10. Structurally the Mini should take the smaller IC engines though these days it is only advertised as an electric model.
The price is right on this one. I think a better deal than the Micro. The Mini is also available as an ARF for about $75.00. Here is a link to the kit:

'Course a micro would be lots of fun to watch! I don't think I would want to fly one with more than a Pee Wee .020 on it.
