Are there any manufacturers that make an all metal RC tank around 1/16 scale. I realize that it would be heavy but all things can be overcome.

astroboycp -> RE: All metal (5/12/2008 4:26:42 AM)

I am not too sure about 1/16 but 1/10th scale there is.

borealis -> RE: All metal (5/12/2008 8:27:19 AM)

There is that chinese company.. Chun-wai model. Someone bought a 1/16 M1A2 here some time ago and it run fine.

Oh yeah forgotten about that one.

I must say they are very over-zealous in their sales as they will constantly send emails to ask when you're buying the model if you ever sent any enquiry about their tanks[:)].

wackywheelz -> RE: All metal (5/12/2008 2:14:48 PM)

They have a decent website and pictures, but I wish they had some pics of the internals and drive train, and some more detail.

My that's not a bad deal if it's offered at that price without a reserve.

Jerry, do you know who's making that KT?

Chuck

Wow,

That is a great price and an awesome looking machine, that is tempting to dish out the cash for it! Shipping is probably $ 200 euros or something, that seems too good to be true! Keep us posted if anyone can find out some details, like is this for real?

Ern -> RE: All metal (5/13/2008 3:39:19 PM)

I'm looking to translate a bit, but I already see NO GUARANTEE in the description!!

Ern -> RE: All metal (5/13/2008 3:48:54 PM)

Almost complete translation... you gotta love the internet!

Tiger I in complete metal execution (aluminum) on a scale 1:16 (the Tamiya execution copied). The structure is finished to some small details, must be refined however after own conceptions. The aluminum surfaces are (Schleifspuren at the treatment of welding seams), electric motors and Tamiya DMD Controll unit are attached still in an unfinished way likewise like trip automatic controllers and RC von Futaba, the electrical motors are inserted. Dimensions as with the Tamiya variant. The Tamiya Full option kit can be re-tooled at any time. When desired I send gladly more pictures.
With the tiger it hamdelt itself around an absolute unique piece, detailfaithful reproduction in outstanding processing.
Like always, there private auction, no warranty, guarantee or cancelling.
Much fun with offer

ailog -> RE: All metal (5/13/2008 4:20:20 PM)

Professional looking piece of metal. Expert builder if it was home made, except for the running gear.

herrmill -> RE: All metal (5/14/2008 12:17:38 AM)

Its evilBay.... you takes what you can get. Should be interesting if anyone here bites on it.

Jerry, I hear there is a soon to be a new 1/10 Hetzer on the market. VIERM Hetzer I can't open the website due to China's Great Firewall but thought I'd pass it along to see what you may know of these folks.

Wechoe Panther using tamiya guts

wackywheelz -> RE: All metal (5/17/2008 6:15:19 PM)

Approx pricing on 1/10 Hetzer and Wecohe Panther?

Fester9 -> RE: All metal (6/1/2008 3:16:20 PM)

US$1350 for the price of chun wai made product, I think it is a bit pricey and from what I see the RC is china made. The maker should give at least futaba brand rc, the measurements seems out of proportion specially the rear part. By the way, does it have smoke and sound? Does the tank jerk backwards during gun firing? If not, its even more pricey. I rather buy Tamiya if they produce M1. At present, I have 1 china made but plastic parts and it have functions like sound but no smoke which I don't mind much due to the low price and the tank also jerk backwards on gun firing (with recoil also).

I lost sight of this thread and forgot to reply.

I've known of vierM for some time, one of the higher end 1:10 manufacturers around. I'm not sure what they've sold to date.
All I know is that the fellow who is making these models is striving for ne plus ultra accuracy AND is making the main components from steel. I thought I saw an initial price for his JagdPanther of around USD 10,000 but that was way before the current USD- Euro disparity. I've not known of the price for the Hetzer but you can count on it being costly. The type of engineering and execution employed doesn't come inexpensively.

Jerry
