OK SO on the LEFT is my cooling head and the RIGHT is the cooling head from my buddies revo (not actually his but same concept.)

any ways i bought my 3.3 from the hobby shop and they said that they should be the same any one know why there are so much different? also my buddy said something about a 3.3 with new bearings is mine it?

no look my head has no milling in it its just a straight down hole.

oh ok I see it now...likely the one on the right is a newer version....it is not uncommon to find little tweaks like that in model lines...it is done to shave more weight.

but the guy at the hobby shop insisted i bought the one to the left due to some sort of bearing malfunctions that happen in the on to the right.?? i dunno i just hope mine is better LOL

not sure what the bearings have to do with more material being taken out of the cooling head...I would ask the guy a few other questions to gauge his actual experience level LOL.....

Traxxas redesigned the bearings and engine heads on the new 3.3's. Nothing is a matter with it you just have the newer version of the 3.3.

Left is the new head, it got a tweak to help with cooling.

^^^It depends on how you care for the engine. Some have blown bearings at 2gallons,I have my first 3.3 and it's at 8gallons and the rear bearing is starting to wear down,I'm gonna replace them when I get the cash.

How do you know when the bearings are bad?by the engine making a different soundor dismounting it and checking them? i have a 3.3 revo and a 3.3 Jato they both have about a gallon gone each. any help apreciated.

Yeah left is new head, right is old.

They replaced the cheap chinese made bearings with some nicer german made ones so they should roll better and last longer. Particularly the OWB.
