I am getting tired of these extremely lightly built aerobatic planes that are too fragile for most anything but a perfect landing.
I like 3D but don't need one plane that can do both to full max of each type. I can buy 3D planes also.
I need a well built sturdy plane, ARF, for aerobatics that flies great and takes a Saito 125. I would rather be overpowered then just enough.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

Get an OMP Fusion. It's a profile but will take some punishment ... I have the smaller one and it's really taken some abuse. I've flown it with the wing tube loose, broken ribs, landing gear rubber banded in place and covering taped in place. Even when I've broken it beyond flying it was repaired within 15-20 minutes.

Best part is beyond the abuse and reparabiliy it will fly great! And that Saito 125 is a perfect powerplant.

Or learn how to land properly and you can fly the light planes.........of course I'm just pulling your chain.

Companies are going where the money is......people want light planes. You want a heavy one you have some choices.....

-Buy some of the older planes people sell off used
-Buy a warbird
-Buy a kit and build your plane to your liking
-Buy an ARF then strip it and re-enforce it adding weight

Not much else you can do really

You are probably referring to undercarriages ripping out or bending on hard landings. Had a few of those!! There are ways to reinforce U/C mountings that don't add much weight. I would urge you to read this link from Troy Built Models on why lighter planes fly better and why power is not the only factor. http://troybuiltmodels.com/newsite/lighterplanes.html Where I come from we "kill" to save every gram of weight. No matter how far weights have have been reduced, most manufacturers tend to "over-build" and veer on the side of safety. RC Showcase has a weight chart for different engine sizes which will give you an idea http://www.rcshowcase.com/html/chart.html
