Hi to all!!

read the following senario and help me please!

my car (smartech) is an on road car and it is very low for road racing, i never intend to go pro with it, but when i drive it on the road, car many times hit stones, and it goes out of the road.I try to thing something to make it a little higher but is not easy to have 1-2 cm.
What about using a buggy with on road tyres and an on road car body?
is here someone who try this?
With the situation as it is now i must change the screws every time i drive it :S
If i had a smartech off road car and put an on road cars body and street tyres, would that works for me?

thanks u!

Yeah but not so big that the car can't handle, carefull. About offroad car running onroad, an example is the kyosho inferno 7.5 which has the chassis of the Inferno GT (onroad). What i want to say is that if you have a buggy for example, the only thing you want to make it for onroad abilities is changing the springs only. But to convert an onroad to offroad, that's a little expensive because you wanna buy bigger arms. Plus that you don't know if the engine is as powerfull as must be to enjoy the driving. I recommend you buying a seperate offroad car and IF YOU WANT lower it. But the opposite is just...well, not stupid, actually is a waste of money. I know what you mean by hitting small rocks while running but you can't get your onroad car higher. And the worst is that is a 1/10 scale which has smaller ground clearances. With a 1/8 scale, you wouldn't have any problem

Both To make it look like an onroad, you just need to replace the springs ONLY. Buy shorter springs, or cut some long springs you have but that is not a reccomendation

i Lowered my tamiya TG-10 slightly by putting wide zip ties around the shocks, just where the spring pushes up against it. All it does it prevents the springs from fully extending. No need to trim your springs! And if you want to raise your buggy again just remove the zip tie!
Easy!

Yes but you may have a few "energy losses" there, oh man, how to say that I prefer changing the springs instead

In my opinion shorter springs will do the job but new shocks and springs will give you the best result. But even if you do that the buggy will be slower than an original on-road chasis like your smartech. So just find a smoother road to run!

Yeah, if you only change the springs and do nothing else, if your car got a big air sometime, you will see that the shock piston is fully extended out because of the weight the arm will have Of course you can prevent that by adjust the screws that adjust the maximum height of your car. Buggies have this option

The most popular racing class here is 1/8 buggy onroad. It will work a treat for street racing. Or an Inferno GT ofcourse.
