Would help if you told us what car you were talking about. In any case, whether it's FG or HPI Baja, there is a metal diff case set available for both. If you are talking all the different FG diffs, there have been quite a few discussions relating to the benefits of the different setups, you should do a search.

Hi Phil, please can you make your own thread for this question? It is considered rude to 'hijack' someone's thread with your own question. Thanks.

HPI make an alloy diff case, you can buy them everywhere, they're cheap too, only 26 bucks.

The material might be different between the kits, but the RTR internals fit perfectly into the SS alloy case, without any issues, modding, or purchase of additional parts.

EDIT: Seal is the same

I've done the conversion. It works perfectly, I haven't got a gallon through it yet, I guess I'll see if it holds up. I didn't change the viscous washers. In what way are they different? This is honestly news to me. My Baja is running fine with all the RTR internals, and an SS diff case set.

Well, I trust Dave (Turtle), he knows what he's doing. The seals come with the alloy diff case, so that's no worries. Now you got me worried about the viscous washers though...
