Hi:

I need a new plane (ARF) after losing my Sig Rascal 40 on floats due to a bad battery connection. I've got a Saito 100 that I'd like to use.

I like the look of the new Hangar 9 Pulse XT 60 and I think it would look nice on floats. However, looks aside, I'm thinking that World Models Super Stunts 40 would fly better on floats (and save some money). Here's a comparison between the two planes:

Pulse XT 60 Wing Span: 70 in
Overall Length: 57.3 in
Wing Area: 885 sq in
Flying Weight: 7–8 lb

Super Stunts 40 Wing Span: 66.5 in
Fuselage Length: 57.0 in
Wing Area: 882 sq in
Flying Weight: 5.5 lbs

I was thinking that the Pulse XT wins in looks, and the Super Stunts wins in cost and lighter weight (performance). Are there other planes (ARF's) that would be good aerobatic flyers on floats with a Saito 100?

Thanks

Ken.

I have an Ultra Stick 60 of floats with a os fx90. It is a real dream on floats. I have flown one with a Saito 100, awesome!

Go to a float fly with your motor and hold it up to the properly sized airplane, Then turn towards the lake and throw the motor to the middle of it.

I think that a four stroke motor on a float plane is just waiting for that.

Or just make sure you attach it to the floats.

Just thought you might need a laugh.

If it has wings it needs to fly, NO more hanger queens.

Ken: The Pulse is a sport-pattern design and the Super Stunt is a fun-fly design. They are both aerobatic, but in different ways. The Pulse is better at pattern/imac and the SS is better at 3D. Pick your favorite.

OBTW, if you are into 3D, the Funtana X and the U-Can-Do are better choices than the Super Stunt.

A .46 UCD on floats would be really nice with a 1.00...

So would the 60 size and the wing loading would be lighter.
