I had my new 150cc Yak delivered last tuesday. The shipping company destroyed the crates. The fuse was fine but the wings had damage. The crate were so bad the driver unloaded the plane piece by piece.

I came home from work today and I already had a new set of wings waiting for me. Thanks for the fast service Chuck.

Was it UPS (United Plane Smashers) Or ABF (already Broken Frieght) or wait... there's got to be more.

Glad Aeroworks came threw.

It was a Frieght company. UPS sent the replacement wings and they were in good shape.

well the worst thing you can ever do is put the word "FRAGILE" on anything you want shipped. That only gives the guys in the warehouses even more reason to drop it, kick it, smash it or run the forklift into it. I use the words "Handle with Care, Precision Equipment Enclosed". So far with the grace of god, none of my shipments have been damaged.

One time my buddy shipped a 40% plane forward Air. When the plane arrived it was destroyed, the crate was gone, the airplane and parts were plastic wrapped to a palate. forward air wanted the recipient to take the plane but he refused and my buddy got a call. After jumping through hoops for two months he won full replacement value.

He is the only person I know of that got paid for damages from forward air. I think because the crate was gone they had to evidence to blame bad crating.

Shipped a 28% with Forward Air. They ran the forks of the forklift thru the crate, in one side and out the other. They went under the fuse and missed the wing bag that was zip tied to the side of the box. No damage until they unscrewed the lid of the crate and tried to lift the fuse out by grabbing the prop shaft. I had taken the wheels and pants off and had bolted the axles to the bottom of the crate.

They actually ripped the firewall out, leaving the DA 50 and the firewall laying loose inside of the cowl. The reason I know for a fact they took the lid out they left a couple of the screws out of the lid and stripped out some of the ones they put back in.

It was insured, I got a new plane plus a few bucks for assembly time.
