Status: offline 		how do i get a better turning radius on my sportwerks mayhem??? I have a spektrum on it, do i need to do something on the radio to make it better??

Status: offline 		Get a DS1015 or sanwa ERG-VX steering servo. You wouldn't beleive the difference

Status: offline 		Well, you can check your steering endpoints, or maybe try changing your buggy's setup. Also, do you use a rechargeable receiver pack, or 4 AAs?
If you're using AAs, you will see a BIG difference in servo performance by switching to Rx packs because of the increase in voltage.

Adjust your endpoints. Try a lighter sway bar, add some neg camber, shorten and or lower your front camber links. If none of that helps try reducing your front caster. A $100 servo probably won't help much. I have a 5625 in my 8ight and can cut corners and hold lines as well as anyone else.

Status: offline 		There is one more way that i've tried but i see small difference but i tell you anyway Change the position of your linkage on your servo arm as closer to the gear as you can

I'm sorry but a $100 DS1015 servo is the single biggest upgrade you can do to your buggy. NOTHING else changes the handling of a buggy more than that. Now I've never tried a 5625 and don't know what they're like, so yours might be good or not, but the JR590 in a spektrum set isn't up to it. If the servo doesn't have the torque to push the servo straight to its endpoints quickly then your turning radius will be larger.
Just use the 590 on the throttle brake, throw away the 577 and put the DS1015 or Sanwa on the steering

I hear that all the time. Thing is, buggys have small tires and when there in motion there even lighter. You don't need a $100 servo on a 7lb buggy. Now on a truggy I could understand... and yes, I have driven an 8ight with a 333oz servo in it and aside from setup it didn't feel any different than my 5625.

Telling people they need a $100 servo to get better steering is like telling people they need a $300 engine to go faster.

I laboured for ages with cheaper servos. The minute I put a good 'un in my buggy was instantly transformed. Turning was tight and razor sharp. I would never go back now to cheaper steering servos.
Like I said I've never used the one you mention, it may be good or not.
I am passing on my experiences with these buggies, and in my opinion it is the single best upgrade you can do for your buggy.

Status: offline 		Well one thing to get a stock mayhem to turn better is put the turmoil Acherman on it. Then grind a little bit in where the pivot balls hit also there is a bit of plastic that hits when you turn grind that down a bit. Also give the buggy a little bit of Toe out. I had a mayhem for a long time and still have one laying here just for the kids to bash with. They turn like a damn bus. Took me over a year of tweeking to finally get that thing to turn worth a crap.

Stronger servo, ackerman setup, shaved a little of the bulkhead that touched the ackerman, shaved a little where the knuckles touch the part where the turnbuckle hits on each end. Also if you want very and I mean very aggresive steering you can shave the top A-arms in the front and slide them forward. You can use a grinder for this. I used the shims for the rear lower hinge pins behind the top A-arms after I shaved them. This really made it turn. Changed caster.

Can you not get different caster blocks for Turmoils?

Status: offline 		something to consider: while our wheels are "small and light", when they are spinning, the have a large gyroscopic effect. the faster they spin, the greater the effect. the net result is that it takes MORE force to turn wheels when they are spinning, and even more so the faster the tires spin.
