After breaking my new Revo 3.3 engine in I decided to upgrade to the Traxxas Resonator pipe. I had only leaned the HSN a bit while my stock pipe was on. I richened the HSN a bit and bashed around with it to see how the Resonator worked before trying to tune it anymore.
Not long into running it I had problems. The most apparent problem was with the idle. It kept dieing and/or wanting to die when it came to an idle. I took it out today to get it tunned in nice but it didn't want to start and/or stay running when it did start. I got a lot of white smoke when it did fire up, that has me worried. I thought maybe it's from the WD40 but I wasn't sure.

So the problem is that my 3.3 won't start and stay running and that's accompanied with abnormal amounts of white smoke. Anyone have a clue what's up?

Sounds like the addition of the resonator kinda threw off the needle settings. If I were u imo, I would try re-setting the needles back to factory and re-tuning it from there. If u can't get it to fire initially, make sure to check the plug to make sure the plug is still good; because it is possible that the break-in period finally did the initial plug in....I might want to try a new plug in addition to re-setting the needles to see what happens.....either way good luck with it man...

I checked the plug and it glows hot. It was getting colder so I'm crossing my fingers that the temp outside was making things tough. I'll give it a try tomorrow and hope for the best.

yeah your needles are off...with the addition of the new pipe and the colder temps you will need to retune.

I would raise you idle speed a little to see if it will set and idle...

I was able to get it running and I've got it going pretty good now. The only trouble is the LSN and the idle aren't getting along. I'm also getting some issues with shifting but I think that'll work out in the end when I get all the tweaks correct.

Well, once u are sure u have the idle set correctly, go back and re-adjust the lsn until ya think u have gotten all the "kinks" worked out of it.
