Hey all,


I am thinking of getting a used Nitro 4-tec and I was wondering if all the parts between the 4-tec 2.5 and 4-tec 3.3 are interchangable? I see alot of 3.3 parts on ebay. Will they fit the 4-tec 2.5?
If I get a 2.5r 4-tec can I install a 3.3 in it?

Parts between the two look very similar, if not identical. They even share many of the the same part numbers, although newer 3.3 parts have an (A) at the end.

I believe the 3.3 engine should be pretty much a direct drop-in to the 2.5 chassis.

ok so i just got the 3.3 and i already have the 2.5 and this is so far what i found that is the same and what is different

same: carb, motor mount, and yes the motors are interchangable.

different: the ez starter pulls the different direction on the 3.3 so neither the ez starter or the pull start from the 2.5 will work.

if you already have the 2.5 just keep that motor it is fast enough but if your going to buy one spend a little bit more and get the 3.3
