I had always had MT's before buying a jato 3.3. The jato was crazy fast and fun for awhile, but now im starting to miss bashing offroad. I have decided to sell the jato and buy a new monster truck, however I have no idea which one to get. It will mainly be run in grass and must be able to jump decently. The most important factors are durability, handling, and speed.
I have considered the new MGT 8.0, Gst 7.7, Savage x ss, lst2, and revo. I really want an electric monster but I would have to have a brushless and that is too expensive. The lst is probably around the maximum amount that I am looking to spend. I know that people could flood this thread with their opinions on these trucks so I will help to narrow it down. Right now I am most interested in the lst2 and the MGT 8.0. Any feedback or comparisons would be great. Thanks!

Lst2
But if you choose the 8.0 you would be happy with it also.

i love my mgt. i'd buy an 8.0, even having a 4.6. the truck handles great, jumps nice, the stock mgt is just a little heavy, but that 8.0 won't care.

Get all of them! Haha, I just recently finished the break in of my Savage XL, LST 2 and New TMaxx. I got into this RC thing about 5 months ago with my first RC (MGT 8.0). So far between the 4 trucks my initial impression is to stick with the MGT 8 or LST 2. The quality of these two trucks seem superior to the Savage XL and New TMaxx. I had problems with the Savage XL out of box such as binding throttle linkages, roto start shaft being too short (HPI said they may have packaged the wrong one in the box), and weak throttle servo. The TMaxx off the bat I had to replace the steering servo with a Hitec servo, because the stock Traxxas steering with the stock Traxxass throttle servo was glitching with the Futaba spectrum receiver. As far as maintenance I think the MGT and TMaxx will be easiest to work on because everything is on the same plane. You dont have to remove everything to get to one thing. Looks like the Savage XL and LST 2 will not be as easy. Their "ladder" chassis design makes things a little more difficult to wrench on. As far as the CEN GST 7.7, everything I go to the hobby store and look at that truck the guys working there keeps telling me to stay away from it! They literally wont sale it to me!

Thanks for the comments. Ha I wish I could afford to buy them all but one will be enough for me. I do think I will get either an lst2 or the new mgt. From what I've read the lst should handle and jump better while the mgt has more torque and is faster in a straight line. As for the appearance, I think the lst looks better than any monster. What can you say about the differences in driving these two trucks?

Ok I have made a decision to get the lst2 IF I get a MT..But I have been reading about truggies and I am now torn on whether to get the lst2 or a truggy like the 8ight-t. It would still be for bashing unless I decide to race it somewhere down the road. This may be the wrong place to ask an opinion on truggies but then again the truggy forum would be biased in the opposite direction. I have read that a good truggy will be faster, jump better, break less, and even handle better offroad than a monster. Now I am really confused, but I probably won't be ordering a car until next weekend anyway. Can anyone that has experience with truggies compare? Thanks for the help!
