Would it be ok to use my K&N air filter oil on the little foam sponge? or should I stick with the stuff Traxxas sells?

Just wondering if anyone had tried anything different than the traxxas brand.

The K&N stuff in the aerosol can seems almost the same once you let it bubble out in a container.

Also on a side note what is the major difference with the platinum edition air filter compared to the stock, by just seeing the platinum it looks like more air will get to my engine but also looks like more fine dist too? anyone had any bad luck with either filter?

go to your local motorcycly shop and pick up some no toil foam filter cleaner and oil. Its like $5 for a 16 ounce bottle and works great. If mx riders trust it to protect their high end, hopped up motors, you know its good enough to protect the 3.3 in your revo.

yes you can use the K&N air filter oil...it is the same thing.....and yes the motocross guys use something called PJ1 it comes in a 2 can set....1 is a cleaner similar to brake cleaner and the other is the oil which is actually stickier than the traxxas brand of air filter oil....I bought the 2 can set and used all of the cleaner but the oil is still almost full after a year of using it.....cost is about 12 bux for the 2 cans.

why pay 6 bucks for a tiny bottle that will oil about 10 filters when you can buy a can of PJ1 for about 10 bux and oil about 1000 filters.
