Boots are always a good idea. Anything you can do to prevent dust getting in there will help extend their life. Titanium is not as hard or as strong as steel (thickness for thickness), so it will be important to keep contaminants out.

Lubing with a grease may not be a hot idea, as dirt and dust will stick to the grease, and wrk it's way into the CVDs moving parts, causing premature wear. If you do decide to grease them, the boots will be even more important. I'd say if you really want to increase their life, use graphite dust and boots. Graphite dust is a dry lube and will not attract dirt.

At the end of the day though, no lube of any kind and no boots is how most people run them. I don't know how much extra life you might get out of them by lubing and using boots. Not much, I would imagine, but if you're one of those people that likes to take every precaution, go for it.
