hey im trying to make an adapter to charge my glow plug igniter, ive got the part that plugs into the igniter and i just need to know the polarity of the wires, one is completely black and one is black with white stripes......which is positive and which is negative???????

Please help ASAP,

Sad thing is I've seen both used in the industry, but the vast majority of the time the white stripes indicate power and the solid black is ground.

Check it with a meter to be sure though, because as I said I've seen both.

The wire connected to the center should be the positive lead. I would expect it to be the one with the stripe but, as already stated, a quick check with a VOM will confirm which wire it is.

the solid black wire is the negative and the black one with white stripes is positive, i saw the same wires on a different charger and thats the way it matched up to the battery so i charged the glow plug igniter and its fine.
