the only thing you
need
to upgrade the engine
is a 3.3 engine

everything else
transfers over

as far as toughening up the truck
wow, you could get tons of stuff
but
i put a .18tm on my 2.5 revo
and the only problem
i've had in over a year
was ruining one set of diff gears

so i don't have anything i feel
is a necessary upgrade

So do you want to convert just the engine or the whole chassies?? The engine is a direct swap with the 2.5

Guys i wanted to change the 2.5 chassis to 3.3 because i thought it will be better.. as for the engine i have the conversion kit for a big block..

So the engine is not my problem..

the problem is that i want a bulletproof truck..i will use an lrp 28 version 1 or the savage 25 engine i dont know yet.. and i dont know if they will fit with the traxxas conversion kit..

tell me guys anything that you know it breaks..

the towers?

the steering system?

the pivot balls?

the chassis?

the bumpers?

steering blocks?

skid plates?

bulkheads?

differentials?

spider gears?

cups?

cases?

axles?

spur gears?

I HATE the stock shock rod end caps. I bought a nice set of alluminum ones and have yet to find anymore problems with anything else. The truck is pretty strdy. Just buy a better air filter and you'll be ok.

For the conversion, you will need the 3.3 chassies, longer steering arms, 3.3 chassies brace, and a wide gear ratio set for the tranny(optional).

Now if you want to put a big block in their with traxxas mount, and you want to use a pull start or roto-start, your gonna need extended a-arms because the starters don't clear the rear a-arms. With the extended a-arms, it will clear easily.

Edit: and your gonna need to put some heavier weight oils in the diffs. I'm running 40k up front and 30k in the rear. Alluminum diff cups would be good also.

How can i be helpedby the extendet arms?

How do they differ from the stock ones and give you the opportunity to use a big block engine?

The extended arms sit farther back then the stockers, therefor, they clear the starter. A lot of people have had this problem when they installed the Traxxas big block kit.

The extended arms are not swept back at the mounting points, they are swept back where the pivot ball threads in. Thus you will not gain any clearence, the only way to gain clearing would be to extened the rear portion of the chassis.

Explain what? That the Extended arm's give more clearence? I can take pics to prove that they dont, you actually loose clearence.

I was told earlier that the New Era or the JConcepts big block conversion kits let you keep the starter, pull starter, or roto start. I haven't been able to find one of these kits yet. Anyone know where to find one?
