Here are some shot of my recently completed Mohawk. I added a functional rudder and dressed it up cosmetically. "Flight" shot by way of PhotoShop. Will fly it this week end. Anyone else put one together??

Way cool, let us know how it flys. I really like the plane but can't justify the cost. I am flying your little Bronco and I absolutly love it. Am considering building the big one when I get all my other projects done.

That looks great. Did you re-cover or paint over the existing covering... You did a very nice job... Want to do mine.

Thanks! Painted right over the existing covering, Krylon gray primer, right out of the spray can. BTW, it flies really well. Got some video I need to edit before posting.

What did you set the thrust angles at on the motors? There is so much play in the firewalls before they are attached. I am nearly complete on mine and I made 2 outboard rudders.

Rich,

Beautiful job on your Mohawk!  Just curious, is the Black Horse ARF your design?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Thanks, Brian. Sorry to say that I had nothing to do with the development of the BH Mohawk. Keith Sparks did one almost the same size; he does beautiful work and usually chooses subjects that are a bit unusual, not often seen and, refreshingly, off the mainstream! Here's another shot of my BH version.

Has anyone tried electric retracts on the BH OV-1. I am starting one trying to decide on retracts. Nose area/firewall seems pretty tight with battery just above and aft of it.

They were previouly sold by Hobby People but are no longer able to get them USA. I have one and needed a wing and spent much time trying to find the whole ARF or a wing. The US importer in MA.  was useless! I eventualy got a wing  from UK. This guy was very helpfull and and can get the ARF. The ARF price is ok but the  shipping is expensive:

It looks great in the air and flys well.  I used the motors recommended in the kit and they were fine. You can also find other kits around . A guy named Keith Sparks sells kits/parts. It was a build article in Model Airplane Nes. Google around for OV-1 KIT  and you will find info. There is also more info here in RCUniverse. Search and find. There is a review of it on here too.  Mike Lywellen I think?

Good luck
Jim D.
