tireguy26 -> INELLECT AND ENGER G CELLS problem? (5/13/2008 7:59:12 PM)

I have a t4 truck. In it I have a brushless mamba with a sidewinder esc. I used to have a novak xrs with a trinity speed gem. I run 6 to 8 cells. When bashing the end batteries get smoking hot. Sometimes they leak, blow up , short and I end up with a dead cell. At first I thought it was my motor. Then I thought it was my speed control. Now with a completly different set up same problem. So far 4 enger g cells are toast - 5 intellect cells are toast . These are intellect 4200 and 4600 enger g. Has anyone had this problem?

Ive had problems with intellect cells and my mamba. My 2 IB packs are dead both where matched packs and cost me some money.

Are you form charging the packs? that helps.

When you first charge them do it at .5 amps thats form charging.
It helps get the full capacity of the cell.

I forgot to mention I'm using a dean style connector. I say a dean style connector because it looks like a dean,but it's not dean.

How hot is your motor getting? Maybe your over geared, Which would pull more amps from the batts and cause them to fail.

What is your gearing?
