I flew the 67" Fusion for the first time on Sat. Wow it flies nice!I enjoy flying it.

I have the OS 1.20 engine on it and that seems to be the perfect combination.I notice that the covering started to flake off.Not sure what kind of covering they put on these kits.Has anyone else expeirence this? I bought this kit on a sale blow out and not sure if this is a lower grade kit or what. Getting the OS motor to fit required cutting away at the motor mounts.I hope that does not weaken it too much.The pre cut hinges did not match up and they had some of the hinges glued in on a angle.One of my aeilerons was longer that the other.Had to trim that.

If anyone out there can get me some input on these OMP kits I would appreciate it.Would I be better off buiding a full buid kit? I am not much into building,so I would have to get someone in the club to build it for me.I like flying!

This has been discussed many times and unfortunately an unwanted result of some china covering issues. With most ARFs it is always advisable to go over the covering lighltly with an iron to make sure all is sealed down from the manufacturing process. Another tip is to use trim solvent to seal around the edges.

I went over the trim with a iron as I do with all the ARF kits I put together.I never had this kind of problem.I will have to check out the trim seal.Its to late to do anything with it now.I appreciate the information.

I had the same problem and like you I am only interested in ARF's. The plane is awesome. I ironed my covering down and used trim solvent before ever putting the plane in the air. I don't believe my plane was covered with UltraCoat. Its something else and it will peel away leaving the color behind in an aweful mess. This is a hugh dissappointment but just make sure before you buy another ARF that its covered with UltraCoat or something suitable. I have no complaints with the quality of OMP products. Your plane will look like crap but fly great.

Has this been a problem with OMP models. I just built and crashed my 67" fusion today do to the inside rib in the wing came off in flight( the 1st flight) and allowed the wing to rotate and spin into the ground. Anyway when I built it I had problems with the clear coming off and leaving the color. This has happened on 2 of my Katana 40 and now my what's left of my 67" fusion. I will be calling OMP monday.

If I buy another ARF from OMP I will make sure its covered with Ultracoat and this stuff. Its horrible for the person who only has time and skills that are best suited to buying an ARF. I love the plane though. Great 3D and very precise.

Guys, this is old news with the covering issue. All new OMP models have had and will continue to have Ultracoat/Oracover covering.

When will the Ultracoat/Oracover covering be available for the 67" ARF Fusion? Looking to buy another one for a back up.Sure like the way it flies.
