How old are you?

I'm only asking because you might be dead before you get it!

After reading all the theatrical hype about this product, it was a huge let-down to see how it is actually made. It looks like what you would get if you asked Rube Goldberg to draw up a garden hose repair kit.
I ran into a guy a few years ago who knows Mr. MF. Word is that he is a musician and "inventor" on the side. This device really isn't his invention, there were other similar throttles being made elsewhere out of shim stock. It fails at least 2 of the tests for what makes any item patentable.

Oh my God.....

I dont remember much these days, but that whole episode with "that guy" (I will keep biting my lip..) is one thing I will NEVER forget.

Its still all on the RCU archives if you want to look it up... but be prepared for a lot of agrivation.

Mtboone,

Do whatever you can now to cancel the order and get your money back. You are wasting your time and money with this item.

The only decent throttle for the Cox .010 and .020 motors are available from Steve Adams at http://selecthobbies.com

Just as a matter of interest...

Has anybody actually tried one of these? Does it work? If so, how does it compare with the alternatives?

Best Regards,
=Adrian=

The fact that the website was last updated in 2005 is not a good sign.

I've got one from him a few years ago during the big Bru Ha Ha about Microflight on this forum. I also got all the accessories and a container of his fuel. You know I have not even tried it yet. Maybe I'll fire it up this weekend and let you know how it works. Oh, it IS a Rube Goldberg design. I also see that Select Hobbies does not offer the throttle for the .010 anymore.

Yes they have all gone.... No raw stock any more. We need to do 20 - 30 at a time.

Hey does anyone have a clue about this gadget? It came already pressed on a throttle sleeve of a used PeeWee I bought...seems somethings missing. I never seen anything offered like it, or can figure out what it actually does. I think its part of a muffler. Whatever it is, the holes are well machined as well as the rest of it. If there was a sleeve that pressed on over it I cant see how it would seal very well against the C clip that comes with the throttle sleeve.
