The wind slowed down enough so I could put the maiden flight on my Hybrid. I had high expectations for this plane after reading all the other posts about the Hybrid. Well.......it exceeded what I was hopeing it would do. The CG was a little tail heavy so I moved the batterys all the way to the front. CG was spot on. It flat spins great and harriers with very little rocking. It came in at 17 lb. with a DL 50 and it still lands slow.

Way to go! What prop did you say you were spinning with the DL50 and have you tacked it yet?

I have a NX 22x8 on the DL. It tacked at 7300 RPM. I had the motor on a Wild hare 300 Extra to brake it in.

Holy crap man!! The max spec rpm is 9000. Mine spun a 22x8 at about 7200 on a good day. 12000 is insane for a 22" prop on a 50cc engine.

Yeah, 12,000 rpm? Are you sure about that? That would be record rpms for a gas engine this size. Not even sure the ignition system would allow it. I know some are programmed to limit rpm to 10K.

Hybrid lovers,

I wanted to let you know I have done my maiden with my Hybrid this weekend. She is flying great on a DA50. As I am not such an experienced 3D flyer it was great to get help from my teacher at the club, Walter, who is also flying a Hybrid Edge since a few years now.
It would not surprise me if you could count the number of Hybrid owners in Belgium (a tiny country in Europe) on one hand.
I have been trying to post some pics but seem to have some problems being an Apple user. Will try again as soon as I have some time.

So I am very keen to hone my flying skills with this beautiful bird. Just to let Mike know we are becoming real OMP adepts at our club in Belgium!

Thanks for designing these fantastic planes

Paul

Well, add one more whenever I am in town. As an international airline pilot I am in Brussels quite a bit. In fact, I was hanging out at Delirium and had mussels on the Platz last week. Glad to hear there are other Hybrid fliers over there. What is the name and/or website of your club? Next time I'm there I might want to come by.
