Druss, look im not trying to start anything with you, really. If you havent had any problems with your two belts, thats a good thing.
But there are way to many people who have had nothing but trouble with them. There posts are all over this forum.
Ask Nutcaze about the grief he has had with his

well for mine it was a bad esc, but I already knew it wouldn't hold up, although I was REALLY surprised to see it catch fire, luckily it was still on the ground, then the other thing that made ALL the difference in the world was using my DX6i on it, it completely transformed the Belt CP from glitchy twitchy monster to smoothe as silk, to bad I keep crashing it, but soon I'll have 2, w00t. I will master this thing.

Yep ESky sure ain't a T-Rex or the other heli you guys were mentioning but who cares, like Druss says its a $200 trainer, you buy these with the unconsious intent of crashing them But theres no way I'd ever pay the price they want for the other helis, for me its all about fun, I don't care if I crash or my heli catches on fire (which buy the way I still thought was funny) I buy more and more helis cause I know I crash and since I can buy like 3 ESky's for the price of 1 T-Rex its kinda a no-brainer. And even if I never crashed, I still can't justify spending insane amounts of money on the other helis when the ESky is such a great value (not perfect by anymeans but look at the price), they are entry level helis. Entry level while still providing a platform to make it an awesome heli (which usually ends up being some frankencopter, made up of parts from all different brands, yet another good thing about the Belt CP)

Despite my ill-fated attempts to fly my Belt CP I am determined to fly it without crashing, I can fly the HBFP so theres no reason I can't fly the Belt CP, at least thats what I tell myself

You should contact the place you bought your heli from and tell them about your problem, the esc's on these are weak but that should def not happen in the first flight.

Oh and Druss, I'm trying to catch up with you, going on 7 RTF helis plus a bunch of ARTF projects

LOL nut, you're esky crazy.

One more point, if some of you guys out there don't have an infared temp gun, think about getting one. It's always a good idea to monitor the temps of the motor, esc and battery, especially on a new part. I had a castle creations 60 amp esc that I had to send back because it was getting up to 75C after 5 minutes.

There are a lot of things to consider when flying. The initial cost is huge, even with a $200 RTF heli in terms of parts and tools. I've probably spent over $600 in tools alone. But, they all help prevent things like over-heating parts... etc.

I read about the belt cp problem esc before I bought it. So I ordered a 30A and put it on right away. As a noob, I'm very happy with my heli, and just like Druss says, it's my trainer. I will get a better 1 once I can fly. No point in crashing a $600 machine right away, when I can crash a $200 1. Once |I get fairly comfortable in my flying skills, then I will buy a decent heli. Druss knows best

Oh Oh... Maybe I'm the odd ball out!!! My tool costs have been about $30 if that. Two, 2mm nut drivers for the nuts on the end of the feathering shafts, which I don't need anymore cause of the CNC upgrades I did. and a pitch gauge.

My biggest costs are parts and upgrades, and batteries, and new TX/Rx, oh and motors and a bigger tool box. And my other heli.

happy fly'n

It's funny how at first I saw that the Belt CP was a great heli, and now I see that it's a piece of plastic junk.. I already got one(bare bones) I planned on putting all my own electrics in it(I'm Futaba Loyal) so I guess I'll avoid the stripped servos and exploding ESC, lol..

I never flew a heli..ever, and yeah Druss makes sense saying the belt is a trainer, and from what I researched about the belt, it is one hell of a good trainer. People say it flies great. All I know is that my Belt will let me decide if this hobby is for me or not, before I invest 1,000snds into it..

"real" heli pilots don't start out in Apaches or Cobras.... they start out in tiny, bubble canopy things..
No difference in starting out in radio control.. I love my CP... I can't stop looking at the rotor head and all the parts... I love that stuff, lol..Druss is right.. It would be harder for me to try and fly an expensive machine.. The Belt lets me see what radio control helicopters are like and then I can decide if I want to try to be a professional flyer doing flips and turns, or whatever with a bigger machine..

Right now I am anxious to be able to take off and hover the Belt 2 foot off the ground... and maybe do some figure eights.. To me that would be well worth the money spent on a Belt CP..

Oh and I see guys on here say all the time that the Belt CP id their "fun machine" that they like flying, even though they own Copter-x and T-rex......hmmmm why is that??

well, between my starter for my nitro, the high end carbon steel screw drivers (philips and hex), soldering iron, tach, infared heat gun, assorted adhesives, my tool box (fishing tackle box)... etc. It has ended up being quite expensive. Right now between my helis, tools and assorted extra parts and accessories I've probably got over $6,000 sitting in my hobby room. That's pretty good considering my water cooled SLI gaming computer cost about that much. My golf club set probably cost just under that.

So, cost is not really a factor for me but I do own 3 esky helis... they are good trainers and fun to fly once you get them set up.

I have a bare bones not even out of the box yet... ran into some othe expenses, so my heli dream has to wait a little more... Sucks, but oh well.

Are you using this kit as a parts inventory, or are you going to outfit it to fly?

Yellow or white?.. I got the yellow one.

Is it so realistic that you can see the guy at the frequency stand giving you the finger, because you are on his frequency?

In the end, us geeks get all the hot chicks! Muscles and looks disappear, but the ability to make money and buy sh*t for women is what women really care about. We have our hobbies and computers and Man-toys, they have our Credit Cards and our Nutz! They might even care about watching us fly our "toys" long enough to ask for a new house!

Not quite that realistic but it's really more a matter of size. It's hard to see what the heli is doing on a 19" LCD screen as the heli is the size of a dime once you get even a little away from you, on a 47" it's the size of the entire 19" screen.
