Status: online 		I just read a great article in rotorworld on the belt cp. Basically, the reviewer states this is not a 3D heli, it is not really designed for it out of the box and that is not the market they are trying to capture but for the price point it does the job it's supposed to do and considering the fact that it costs 50% more in england than it does here he was very happy with it.

As stated in the past, I don't understand the number of ppl that complain that the belt cp does not fly as well as their (place name of $500 plus heli here)... The point is that it was never designed to, the belt cp is about 20% to 25% the cost of a trex 450se v2 rtf (w/ radio)... it's like someone buying a chevy cavalier and complaining that it doesn't perform as well as a ford mustang... sure the cars are the same size, both have motors, both have steering wheels but they do not perform even close to each other.

I have recommended the belt cp in the past and will do so again in the future. If someone comes on here and says "i want a cp heli that's under $200" then the belt cp is going to be my first recommendation everytime. upgrade the esc and gyro and it turns into a great, economical heli.

cf blades
telebee gyro
e-sky metel head
dx6i
trex canopy
everything else is stock, im not doing 3d yet but up to now it works for me.

Status: offline 		Hey fly, I never want to argue about " the best" heli, I thinks it is great that we all fly different stuff, but your list in the previous post is probably in the same price range a Rex SA. If you buy a Belt for $200.00 then "throw away the radio" you are only ahead of the Rex with the servos, skip the metal head buy some servos and a battery put the Telebee on the Rex and fly for the same money

Status: offline 		I had the dx6i ,it came with my b400 , I know that my trex 600e it a great heli and rite now im in the market for a trx450 se v2 ,Now that i can fly i wont be so worried about crashing it, so for me the belt cp has served it purpose a great trainer and the same gose for the hbk2, when i started flying 5 months ago i knew nothing about set up esc gyro's etc....... I could not see taking a 800.,00 heli and useing it for a learning tool ,I wasn't even sure I would stay in the hobby so then i would have been stuck with a 800.00 pile of cf and some electronics , now i know i will keep flying and stay in the hobby i bought my trex600 and im looking for the best 450 heli money can buy, the trex 450 and i cant wait to set that thing up , but i will still keep my belt cp and hbk2 , it always nice to have a cheep heli to try new tricks on.

Status: online 		Plane, I think you need to realize that he did fly the heli stock for awhile so the initial cost to enter was still only $200. The upgrades came later. A trex 450sa w/ motor & esc is $240, add gyro, servos, and radio and you're at $550. Did he spend the same total? quite close but it was not all initial investment.

I think some ppl are still having trouble with the entire concept of an entry level RTF which can then be upgraded as your skills grow.

If you had told fly that he had to put in $550 to just try the hobby he probably wouldn't have. But, for $200, sure will. Then as he gets better he starts to upgrade.... that's what we all do. The guy that can afford the 450sa at first will probably end up with it upgraded to a 450se v2 within 2 years.

I started just over 2 years ago with a lama v4, i now own 10 helis, 4 of them worth over $1000 (not including the radio) but if you had told me i had to spend $1000 for my first heli I would have walked out of the store (which I did until I found esky online).

Status: offline 		Druss I flew my belt cp stock for a least 2 months or so , i wanted to start flying helis a long time ago but the high cost of helis and parts kept me away.The 189.00 dollar price lured me in. now im hooked. im not so sure that was a good thing

Status: online 		I completely agree with you buddy. My wife was going to buy me one a few years agao but ended up in some local hobby shop that only sold eflite and didn't want to spend that much.

Whoa, whoa,whoa, whoa..... Hey now, Cavaliers are my absolute fav cars, right next to cadillac's, how dare you compare a cavalier to a lowly mustang ? Now a cavalier to a Cadillac, thats a good comparison, lol, just messin', but those really are my fav cars, prob why I like the HBFP so much, its the true cavalier of helis

Lets keep it simple.
Lets assume you put all the same parts on the trex (or clone) as you do a belt CP RTF kit. The only difference then is the kit.
Belt cp- $90 for that you get a plastic frame, plastic head, plastic tail, etc.
CopterX SE-$205 for that you get carbon fiber frame, carbon fiber blades, a full cnc aluminum head and tail.
Thats $115 dollars difference. You will spend more than that trying to upgrade a belt. And if thats not the market the belt is intended to compete against, then why sell the "upgrades" at all.

If you really want to understand my point, lets compare apples to apples.
CopterX SE-$205 freight INCLUDED.
Belt-CP fiber edition- $269 you pay the freight!

The Belt costs MORE than a CopterX

Status: offline 		Ok We are all on the same page! I started with a HBFP probably the best out of the box heli ever(and its variants)! Next a Belt, it served its purpose, somebody gave me an HBK2. I struggled with the latter 2, I think because of the E-sky radios. In the meantime a Rappy .30 came my way and wow!! all of a sudden I wasnt fighting with but FLYING (OK, hovering) a heli. Then I bought a Rex, I swear if I had had this heli after the HBFP I would have been way ahead money and flying wise. BTW the Rex SA is 199.95 with motor and ESC from Horizon. One thing guys we all share the brotherhood of helis, I also fly fixed wing and love it, but heli folks are special!!

Empty, either you just like to misunderstand me or just aren't reading what I'm writing. I've never mentioned the CF edition of the belt cp....



MY POINT is that the stock belt cp RTF is a good value and a good way to enter a very expensive hobby period... I don't want to talk about upgrades, CF, CNC or anything else.... stock belt cp RTF is $200 a good way to enter hobby... I can say it again if you don't understand.

And I'd like to clarify something here, I OWN A TREX 450SE, I also own the HDX 450SE V3 (a clone of the trex like the copterx is). I still fly my belt cp more than either.
