Hello Bob, I will try to get the answers to you questions tomorrow. Friday was another busy at the "MAC" the weather was really good until late in the day when yet another storm came through. Francis eventually got his new Super Bandit out of the hangar after a mammoth effort by his friends. Vern and Larry Kramer had mum Beula and sisters Sheila and Diane turn up on Thursday evening and join them at the field on Friday. As usual Rob Lynch was very busy flying all of his and many other peoples jets including BV's new Ultra Bandit. All in all another good day was had by all.

Started off with great flying conditions and a lot of flying. A bit of rain slowed it down in the afternoon but then the pace really picked up as we went into evening. Really good day, overall. Here's just a sampling of some flying today - and the best trained puppy this side of Mississippi

Saturday - no storms, lots of sun and blue sky (good for pictures)and low humidity. But quite a headwind straight down the runway.
Just a beautiful day to spend here. Good day of flying ending with dinner provided by Ron Ballard.
This is one of the best events on the calendar (Second to Spiderman !)
Here's a few of the days pictures

Saturday started with Tim giving the pilots a briefing and then a solid days flying began. It was fairly windy but straight down the runway and everybody coped well. As usual Peanut was having a good time with many of her old friends. Francis Pischner's new Super Bandit was finished and ready for it maiden test flight. There were 72 registered pilots and of that 50 were on 2.4 and 22 on 72 so the change over really is happening. Late on in the afternoon the test flight took place and Geoff White did the honours with his usual ease, well what a flight that was, a couple of laps to become happy and then a full 'ring out'. This was all followed by a peachy landing and a big round of applause from the public crowd. We then moved on to the evening meal cooked by Ron Ballard and Francis. Fillet mignon, pork tenderloin and salmon. After this were the awards (below) and the the 'lucky dip' for all registered pilots. There were a lot of generous donations form Horizon, BVM, Jet Central, AMA, Frank Tiano, US Microturbine, Ron Ballard and Wren Turbines and some more I do not remember. All in all another fantastic Winamac. Thanks must go to Ralf Braun for use of his facility, Winamac Aero Modelers Inc, and to Tim and Tracy Redelman for all their help. 2009..........bring it on!!!

Very Nice pictures!! I went on Saturday for a few hours and enjoyed the show. I was suprised how well the electric jets performed, and love the low and close flybys! Its cool how this hobby brings together anyone from the local farmer to high class doctors. Some really expensive aircraft there. Does anyone know if that big learjet? flew at all that was in the barn out back? And any info on the midair that happened saturday?

Yet another great event in the books from Winamac! Tim & Tracy, you guys are the BEST! Thank you for everything! Ralph, thank you for always taking such great care of us! My buddy Chris Huhn, thanks for giving me the op to spot the old Bandit...couple of flights to get back in the swing of things and the Bandit was rocking out big time. Was good to see you out flying again and punching holes in the sky with us! Also to Dustin and the guys at BVM, thanks for the buddy box ride on the Bandit ARF (or at least until I finally couldn't see it anymore...)! What a sweet ride.... See many of you in a few weeks at Windy City Jets in St Charles, IL and Spiderman in September! Can't wait!

In reference to Ralph's big Citation that was in the hangar, I don't believe they flew it. Ralph typically flies it and he was pretty busy taking care of family stuff.

I had a GREAT time at Winamac (maybe Windymac?) this year. I maiden my new JetCat P160SX powered KingCat on Friday. All went well as expected. The P160SX kerostart worked like a charm! The throttle response is on par with the TitanSE I had last season. Thanks to all who helped and offered GOOD advice!

Tim and the gang did a superb job again! Food, flying and friends! It does not get better than that!

Bob I was # 61, I think I heard 71 at the awards saturday.
I think the majority were on 2.4 as the impound looked pretty lonely when I walked by once.
It was a great time as usual.

Thank you to everyone that made it a great weekend!
Bob

How many registered pilots and do have any idea how many on 2.4 vs 72?

Just curious

Thanks Bob. Looks like 2.4 is here to stay.

It's been two years since I attended Winamac but I will be there next year for sure.

Hey all you jet guys and gals, ( I did see a lady flying), Thank you all so much for coming out to make our event a success! Without you pilots, we have no event. Sorry we couldn't come up with a better pilot ID system for announcing.
With the new 2.4 systems, we lost our impound computer data that told me who was out there.
I know it's a pain to remember to hang the pilot number tag, so we'll come up with something else for Spider. Any ideas? We might post someone out on the flight line to inquire pilot numbers as guys prepare, then relay to tower. I
really missed not having the info. to give you guys credit. It adds a lot to the show, and the crowd responds better to names than "and another Kingcat has landed, nice job"!
Anyhow, thanks again. It looks like all had a good time with only a few mishaps. The club did well and we look forward to Spider! Great job everybody!

Oh, another thing. On sunday as I thanked BV for coming he asked about the pilot numbers.
We had 76 registered pilots! That is a serious turnout with gas at $4.00. Thanks again for
all you pilots do for out event. I get it.
And still another thing: In this small community we can't get much membership in the club.
I have only about 6 members who actually help with events. Some are grumpy old men and
have occasionally griped about nonsense to guest pilots. Please know that I try to forbid that
kind of stuff. MAC is all about hospitality and no hassles. My apologies stand at all times for
any guest pilot who gets hassled by my less than understanding crew. Sometimes they don't
get it.

HI all, just want to thank the Winamac crew for a great time, Tim for always putting a smile on my face, Tracy for taking the girls out shopping, Robert Lynch for putting on a really fantastic show with my King Cat and setting up the new receiver.
Also Ralf Braun for his never ending Hospitality and the wonderful fire works show.
