Status: offline 		My Heli flies so much better with the DX6i, but now my receiver has shut down 3 f'ing times since installing the 6200 and DX6i. I never crashed because of the electronics failure before I bought my new radio!!@$&*&%#@! Only cause I am a noob pilot!

I have read a little bit about these failures and it seems that it is the fault of the pilot and not of the Rx according to a search I did on the problem...I guess since I have a battery(Brand f'ing new MegaPower 1350)that will not supply a constant 4.5 volts or higher to the Rx, I am the idiot. What a crock of sh*t this new problem really is.... Seems now that I can fly confidently without crashing, another wrench is thrown in my spokes that causes the heli to fall to Earth for seemingly no logical reasons.

I guess I have to throw my bloody Mega Power's in the trash and start over? What else is there to do? Keep crashing over and over again because of an Rx that won't work under 4.5v? Spektrum owes me some parts as far as I am concerned......But that would never happen cause it is my fault and I am an idiot.

Anyone else have this happen to them? If so what battery were you running? Maybe if I got rid of the stock charger, my batteries would work more efficient? Ah well, back to the drawing board....

Any thought or tips would be appreciated...Sorry for the Rant!!! Feels almost better.....

Status: offline 		Must be your ESC that's not delivering the right voltage?
Might be worth trying the receiver with an independant battery pack 3.5v - 9.6v to see if the problem re-occurs.
It's possible you have a duff receiver.

Whichever way you look at it, crashing when it isn't your fault sucks.
Hope you get it sorted.

Status: offline 		I going with an ESC problem too, I'd either go with a seperate BEC or serperate Rx battery, heres the BEC ($15) I use in my E-Smart (also running a AR6200)

Status: offline 		When moving into a "modular" style heli - and I consider the King an entry-level modular heli - certain facts of life are re-defined.

One of these is that flying with a separate BEC becomes almost a necessity.

Most el-cheapo ESC's (Dynam and Esky come to mind) are woefully under-powered as far as supplying voltage/current to the RX. A BEC/UBEC is a cheap insurance policy against unexpected power drop-outs.
ESC's claim to be able to support 4 servos. What about the gyro? That's basically a 5th servo.

Another is that Spektrum RX's are hungry little beasts. They're not very forgiving in low-power situations. I wouldn't think of flying with an ARXXX without a BEC.

If you already use an external BEC, please post your configuration for further analysis and accept my apology in assuming you don't have one. If you don't have one, I suggest getting one.

I use the HobbyWing UBEC with an AR6200 powered by tired 1000mah/10C Esky greenies. Never had a dropout in at least 150 flights.

I'm wondering if this isn't my problem too then... For some reason my Rx looses or won't take a binding. All bats fresh too.

Like the other day when it wouldn't, esc, recognise my upper and lower stick positions and FunFlier told me how he does his esc programming stick positions. Well I did mine 4xs before it would take and hold.

So heres what might be causing my troubles. I have a low battery warning on my heli. Consists of an adjustable pot so I can set the voltage to whatever I want for a warning and it runs off the battery and feeds 4 rather large leds. I was thinking of dumping it anyway because when I plug in my battery I get a loud electrical snap... I don't like deans connectors either.

I have a small low bat warning device that plugs into the charging plug of the battery that I'm using too... testing to see which one I was going to use.

SOOO with all that draw on the battery could very well be the culpret making my heli act hugely goofy and not hold its bind etc...

I have a bec sitting here... Shizack can you give a small explanation on the correct way to hook these up. I'm lazy!! You don't have to I'll get it figured out. But!! You think that all the junk I have hooked up to my brid is causing it to goof off??

Status: offline 		I have no binding issues or Rx probs on either my ES600 or HBK II or Belt CP, but both the Belt CP and HBK II use better 30a esc's w/becs and the ES600 has a 80a Hobbywing and seperate bec. if you click on my link above it has the pics showing how to hook it up, its kind of a like $15 insurance card that your Rx always has good power, nicer ESC's with built in bec's are ok too.

My esc has a built in bec but I'm think'n maybe its not doing its job so maybe I'll dump some of the other junk and go simple... simply add more stuff instead of junk!!

I'll look at that link asap... but its toooo nice outside right now and I gotta get some other stuff done before I can go do some more crashing... rr fly'n

Status: offline 		Do you have the new update firmware for the AR6200? I also use the AR6200 with an Align 35A ESC with no problems. With it I don't need a BEC. I have had 114 problem free flights. I am also using Flight Power batteries.

Status: offline 		I sent in all my spectrum receivers for a firmware update a couple months ago. it now reconnects after power loss immediately instead of 3 seconds.

Does this apply to any of the other AR series Rx's???? I just got my Ar6100 but who knows how 'old' it really is.

Status: offline 		the test is really easy, hook up one servo into one of the servo slots on the receiver, plug the battery into the receiver using the switch between the battery and receiver make sure you've binded properly and move the appropriate stick to make sure the servo is working. then, leaving the tx on, switch the receiver off then on again and while moving the stick on the tx, see how quickly the servo starts moving.

Status: offline 		I thank you all very much for the input. Though I am sure that this problem has only been happening on my 1350 MegaPower battery, I am going to get that BEC, or equivalent that you recommended....Insurance in this case is worth the 15 $$Bones$$.

Didn't have time to work on the Heli today. I will start on this tomorrow. Unfortunately my family is flying to Texas because of a death in the family and I have been running around making sure everything gets done before they leave...I can not go along so I will have a little time to get my heli back in the air in a safe manner...??
