Status: offline 		.....This problem has happened now on every battery I own, even the stock battery. Had never happened previous to installing Spektrum....I Don't think it can be a vibration issue . All connections were unplugged and rerouted to mount the BEC then re-soldering of BEC and ESC to Dean connector and it still happened. The heli does turn back on but it is seconds, not mili-seconds. The more I read about this, the more I keep seeing that it is my fault because I am having failures. This product is marketed to, and bought mostly by us noobs. How is a noob supposed to get ahead with a product like this? I think maybe I got gypt and was sold an older, non upgraded receiver? Even so, this would not explain power cut-offs, just the time it takes to reconnect without "fast connect".

My receiver boxes say 2007. How do I know if they have the Fast Connect or not?

Status: offline 		How to check for 1.6 firmware:

Unplug the motor
Turn on the TX
Plug in the heli battery; the RX light should go SOLID ORANGE after 1 - 4 seconds (*see below if it flashes immediately)
Check servo movement
Quickly unplug and re-plug the heli battery with the TX on

If you nearly immediately have servo control, AND the RX light is FLASHING orange, you have the QuickConnect firmware.
According to Spektrum, all RX's made since July '07 have v1.6/QuickConnect.

*If your RX flashes before unplug/replug, either you accidentally made an intermittent connection, or it's not properly bound to the TX.

Also, I have noticed with the AR6200 RX that it will not function properly unless the "extension RX" is connected to the "base" RX. Check for a loose connection or broken wire there - that may be your issue.

Status: offline 		I tested the Rx and it seems to connect with a solid light, fast. After I do a power disconnect then quick reconnect, the light is blinking...It seems to connect fast here as well....*sigh*

When I installed my BEC, I set the jumper to 6v because the guy at heli-world/Century told me to go off the voltage of the Gyro(My telebee can handle 4.3-7 volts). I am going to re-jump the BEC to 5v to see if it helps...

I seem to be a much better mechanical engineer. This electrical engineering is beyond my brains capacity!

...wires all look good, really?!!?!?!

I'm watching this cause mine does something simular... I haven't had it flying yet cause been busy and haven't worked out the tx controls yet either. One thing I noticed when my heli starts to spool up is you can see the blade disc occilating. It never did this with the old stock Tx/Rx and I'm thinking this just ain't nermal. It acts like a plate spinning on a stick, wobbles.

Did yours do this at the beginning??

Status: offline 		Damn, I just checked and mine does the same. If I have the tx on and connect the battery then disconnect it and reconnect it it takes about 3 seconds for my sticks to work. This was the AR6100e I got at CH in mid May. Seems it dates back to July last year when they did the upgrades in production. So off to CH today and see if they will exchange it for a newer version. I have been lucky mine never quite in the air. I was told it was only the AR6100 with the pins on the top, not the end pin one.

Ah!! Mine did not do this Dawg....Sounds mechanical 2 me.... That could be something bent on your head. Maybe just your paddles off center or the fly-bar bent and/or uncentered.

Show us a video? Thats always fun!

Wish I had a vid camera available but I don't. Not sure its anything bent as the heli doesn't shake or vibrate. There is this medium speed rotation. The swash is level and the blades and flybar paddles are level at 1/2 throttle. I put the stick at half throttle and then unplug the heli... then I set everything to level, paddles, mainblades and check swash again. everything is level. Plug back in and spool up and I can see this disc do a revolution about every 2 seconds.

Bottom line is nobody else has experienced this and I was wondering if it was the Tx or the Rx is causing it. It didn't do this with my stock setup. I've tried using the various setups for my Tx, yours as well as a couple others and I'm still getting this occilation. pissing me off cause theres no way I can lift off with this. Almost ready to go back to stock again so I can fly a bit and then try again later with the Spectrum setup, after my freebie Rx comes in maybe. See if thats any different.

Status: offline 		Have you tried looking at your servos while spooling up instead of the Blade Disc? You might have a servo that is throwing at a different rate or catching on a nicked gear....Wish i could help further!

Status: offline 		A couple of things. The firmware update is 1.6, sending back to horizon and they will fix for free.

However, this does not fix the loss of signal problem, it simply regains the signal faster. The reconnect time is still long enough to crash a heli. If you are losing the signal at all, there is a power problem somewhere. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED ALONG WITH UPGRADING THE SOFTWARE. Most common are either a bad connection or lack of BEC. If you are still having the problem after installing a BEC, there is another problem that you need to resolve.

I have been using an AR6100E (old version 1.2, I just sent it back) for two months with no problems, but I use an external BEC.

Zim... Thx... hadn't actually thot about watching the servos to see if they are causing this... that would be the to obvious thing to do... Gonna try to work on the bird today some... nice day.. little wind and I haven't touched or looked at it in a few days now so maybe a fresh start.

I installed a BEC and I am still having the same problem as before. I have contacted Horizon to see if they can walk me through my set-up to make sure i am not missing something....I have re-wired, re-soldered, re-plugged everything and my system still shuts down and reconnects only about half the time.

One more thing I notice is that when I am Binding the receiver(6200) to the radio, my gyro will not initialize but I have a solid light on both Rx's. When I pull the bind plug and shut off the system and do a restart(over 5 seconds wait time) my gyro will then initialize but the Rx's will be flashing. When I bind my Rx's why is the gyro not working until I restart??? Maybe this is the root of the EVIL that is happening to my system? AAARRRGGGG!!! I want to fly, it's been real nice here. What a waste!
