Mike,

Just curious of why the screw size for the metal gear servos is the odd size of M2.6 instead of the more common (and readily available) size of M2.5?

Jon

This is the industry standard.

Mike.

Oh, Okay. You'd think that if it is the industry standard, they would be easier to find in the economy. I've searched far and wide and I can get the 2.5's in many different places, but the 2.6's are scarce like hen's teeth, except for a few choice places (MicroFastners, AirWild Pilot shop, Grainger [but you have to have a business to buy form them, no "retail" sales].

Not complaining, just cruious. Love the products and the service. You guys rock!

Jon

Appears to depend upon which country you reside in.... FWIW 2.6mm is the standard thread for the muffler bolts on most small engines, rocker covers etc on 4Str engines and other steel into alloy applications where 2.5mm easily strips out. Other sources in USA would be Kyosho and OS bolts etc at LHS.

True, but getting them in small packs at the LHS or through Kyosho, OS and others it seems they are $10 for a four-pack. We can get 'em from Grainger 50 for $10, but you have to have a "business" to buy from them.

Again, not complaining, just curious.

Jon

Hitec offers them for a little over a buck, here's the link to Tower.

I guess I should have specified the socket head cap screw for the servo...the SHCS are a little harder to find.

Also, even though Tower sells 'em for $1.10 for a ten pack, there is still the issue of S&H ($3.99). That make's 'em 50¢ each for a 11¢ screw.
