Status: offline 		Whenever I gas up my plane, I always seem to waste a squirt or two when the tank is full. It's both wasteful and probably bad for the grass. If I collect this wasted fuel into a clean container, can I pour it back into the main tank for use the next time I fuel up? This way I waste not want not...

Status: online 		I have a small 2 oz Dubro tank that I use as a catch bottle. I simply plug it in to the muffler pressure line and it catches the overflow.

Status: offline 		That's what I do and over a gallon of fuel I'll get one more tank.

I've seen guys use an old fuel tank too.

Yes, vent the bottle.

Status: offline 		I just hook a line from the exhaust pressure line back to the fuel bottle vent. When the tank is full, the fuel goes right into the bottle. Reverse the pump to pull the fuel in the exhaust line back into the tank, its ready to go. No waste, no extra bottles.

Good idea, just a bit of fuel line back to the bottle...

Some of us prefer to make things complicated

Status: offline 		I have been using an old 10oz wing tank for years. When it's full I just pump it back into my fuel can/bottle. I plug it off onto itself like Ken is showing and toss it into my field box, doesn't leak so I always wait until it's full to pump it out.
Got into the habit from flying off of grass sod fields, they would let us fly off there nice grass but the catch cans were required and strongly inforced. At the price of glow fuel today it is just A smart thing to do.

Status: online 		I use a 20 ounce Gator Aid bottle that has a screw top. I also hook it unto the muffler exhaust line and yes it is vented. Good Luck, Dave

Status: offline 		I use an old "Grey Poupon" mustard jar, cleaned of course, with the lid. Each time I fill the plane's fuel tank I collect the overflow from the vent line. At the end of the flying session I simply pump the collected fuel from the jar back into the fuel container. Works great and costs nothing.
