for all those flying stykers with edf setups...heres somewhere to post all your setups and trials to help others, heres my first edf stryker, powered by an ammo 20-40-3500kv motor in an XF fan, 3s 1500mah 15c electrifly pack...all this gear was on my diablo and I turned it into a prop jet cause it just didnt perform, eventually gonna run a "jetscreamer" motor in this and possibly a 4s pack which I'd think would hit 90-100mph...should do about 40mph how it is now...slow I know but as long as it has "enough" power to mess with for awhile I'll be happy...heres pics, added functional battery cooling scoops...

maidened it today...slow but a good flyer, as fast as the last plane with this setup...handles nice though, approach it slows down to glider speeds...I really like it...

hard to believe no one else is flying one of these, c'mon and lets make these setups known...heres mine as of now, its dialed in to perfection getting 15+ minutes of flight time, I am installing a little screamers "jetscreamer" motor in the coming week or two, which will boost the RPMs by about 8000 and draw the same power as the current motor...heres pics...

It is my opinion that a Stryker just don't look right unless there is a fan hanging out the back. I don't have any pictures of mine, but I will try to do that. There really wasn't much to it. I just hot glued the fan to the plane, making sure everything lined up right. I tried a 64mm fan out of a Parkzone? Super liner. (It is the one that looks like a airliner). The plane flew, but was a little under powered. I now have a WM400 mounted with a 4400 kv Scorpion Helicopter Outrunner. This combination eats a lot of amperage. The only ESC that has survived all the experimentation is a Turnigy Plush 60 amp.

When using a 2100 30-40C 3s battery the flight times at full throttle are not very long. I have to admit that it is fun when you come out of a turn and slightly diving at half throttle, level out and hit the juice. The plane seems to jump and then is gone. This setup provides enough power for the plane to take off from the ground at half throttle on a grass field. I have made some other modifications that enable the plane to do this. The stock skids were replaced with 1/16 piano wire.

The poor old thing is kinda beat and battered, but when this thing comes down across the field, the ugliness goes away.

Here is mine, Didnt notice this forum until after I made my own post...Sorry

Anyway it is one of the first parkzones with the brushed 370 and nicad pack. A buddy of mine pancaked it in a field and stripped out one of the stock servo's which had 5 wires.
As for speed I have no idea what to expect with the 6904, The CG came out all by itself with out ANY adjustment!
Installed: HET 6904
Typhon 2W20
Eflite-40AMP ESC
Eflite- 3S 2100Mah
Radio & servo's Futaba

Flew mine today, Was awesome Im guessing about 80MPH in the down wind. Got to put low rates and expo's on it. Super touchy with the high speeds and light foam unlike my other balsa and fiber glass jets. I will get a video up soon, the thing screams literally, loud as can be.

Started cleaning mine up today and making it into a good looking plane now that I know it can accually fly I reenforced the wings with 2 carbon tubes ran the length of each wing. The nose cone came from a HET FA-18, Which has inspired me to create a "Blue Angel's X Plane" The nozzle on the back of the fan unit was a experiment with a plastic solo cup that turn out great with added speed, I will remove and sand it for the pant.
Anyone know a pant I can use that wont melt my plane?

Just an update, I put the first layer of airbrushed "Navy Blue" on the plane today. I plan on painting the wing tips and the vertical stabalizer tips yellow. This is going to be a futuristic Blue Angels jet. I have the decals that I will apply once paint is done. I am going to pin strip around the cockpit area leading back to the back like the blue angels jet but also include the fan unit in yellow then the thrust tube in chrome or gray I will deside when I get there.

Note the right wing taileron is not painted, I cut off the old hinges and 1/2 off the wing. On the open fresh surface I epoxied a strip of balsa and replaced the old foam tailerons with balsa ones. This made the wing just a big as before but with a larger control surface. I flew it like this prior to starting the paint and now snap rolls in 1 second or less. The weigh was not hardly any more than before because of the trimming of the wing and removal of the plastic hinges.
