It turned out to be a great time at the field on Friday. We had 17 pilots show up to practice.
After the sun went down we all gathered for some good Cajun food. (Thanks to my wife Kris)

Hi Jon,

Sorry I had to run Sunday before the awards ceremony. I couldn't find you or Jim to say "Thanks for the great time!" And Of course thanks to Kris and all the gang who always help.....Great Crawfish feast on Saturday and the usual tremendous Etoufeast on Friday<G>. You couldn't have arranged better weather! It was great to see everyone!

It was another great one. The weather was great and the food, flying and folks were all as good as it gets. If you missed this one dont miss the Cajun Nats in October. These guys really have fun know what they are doing!!!

Thanks RAMS and John and his whole family?

I had to miss the first couple of contests in D-6 this year
BUT I made sure I got to go to RAMS/Dixie in Crowley. Jon Martin & Jim Thompson did a great job as usual.

BTW I just glanced over the raffle gift basket when I purchased my tickets because I never win raffles. Well hello !! when I got it home , WOW that things "loaded". Just some fo the contents are :
Beignet Mix,
Bread Pudding mix,
Zatarain's Crab Cake mix,
Mam Papauls Étouffée Mix,
2 seperate 1 pound bags of beans( 1 makes a 10 bean soup) ,
a pack of cajun dirty rice mix,
a quart of Jack Miller's BBQ sauce,
2 pounds of Cajun fish fry,
a pint of Savoie's ROUX,
a 27 oz jar of Tiffies pickeld okra,
a pack of BBQ shrimp mix,
a jar of Louisiana Cajun Butter marinade complete with the injector( that's a needle for you guys from D-3) ,
and 4 jars of Tony Chachere's seasoning powders and 1 Walker & Sons " SLAP YA MAMA" cajun seasoning direct from Ville Platte Lousiana.
Thanks again. For my first raffle win, well it's not as good as a pentathlon kit, but it's pretty sweet and being a cajun gift basket , kinda hot too .

Jon, Sorry I missed the Étouffée Friday nite, but I got my share of crawfish Saturday. I think you said 175 pounds and 24 flyers , that's over 7 pounds a person. I think we had enough.

Even though I didn't get to fly in this one, it was great to get out and see everyone again. I'm hoping to have the Quest ready for Nederland... we'll see. Thanks to Jon and the whole RAMS club for hosting this one, and providing some delicious crawfish on Saturday night! I know I ate my fill... Too bad I had to skip Sunday, but watching all the flying just had me itching to work on my plane...
