I've read different recommendations on what to do here. Do I alter the slots for the rudder horns so the holes are on the hinge line or mount the horns as is so the holes are about 1/4" in front of the hinge line?
Also, do I mount the horns so the stops (little triangle on one side of horn) are on opposite sides or both on same side?

Thanks for any help

Here's what I did ... altered the slots to get the holes on the hinge line and just because I'm anal I had one of the triangles on one side and one on the opposite side.

Just a tad in front of the hinge line would be fine! I'd say no more than 1/8".

Thank you,
Reza

Thanks guys, Is there an optimal point? On the line, or a little forward? What would Quique do?

I just got to this same point on my 86" YAK today and was wondering the same thing. The holes in the elevator horns line up about 1/8 in front of the hing line. The rudder horn holes are pretty close, though I will need to do a bit of adjusting to get the holes to line up.

I am very impressed with this aircraft. Very lightly built, covering is very well done and the hardware seems to be of excellent quality. Now I have to see if I can get this together by next weekend!

Regards,

John B.

Looks like there are 15 Quique Yaks at Sodbusters now. John, if you need any local tech support, dont forget your friends at Sodbusters. I could have had my 86" together easily in a week, if it wasnt for my decision to run an Evolution. You have plenty of time.

Reza,
Since I haven't glued them in yet, What makes the best geometry? (least slack in cables) , on the line or a bit in front?
Or am I being too anal fretting about it?

Thanks
