So I'm a the park this morning with the gang that flies there and it's a nice day for flying. Bunch of plank flyers where there doin their thing too. We would basically take turns in the air to avoid any unplanned meetins of aircraft.

This was my second turn out and I took Zit up really high, did some slow side to side passes and a couple of piros here and there just to break up the monotony. Turned her nose-in and damn near pissed myself !! Actually I did piss myself.... Just a tad. Now the wind starts to act up and I'm already in idle-up and do a low pass at an angle to myself and as the heli crossed in front of me I pulled back on the elevator to get some elevation and thats when my perception time just kinda slowed down.

In the brief time span that all this happened I had the following conversation with myself...
ME: You know... She's flying great! Just like in the sim.
ME²: Yeah man... I wonder how much like the sim.
ME: I bet you can't flip it...
ME²: Just watch me....... Attention thumbs! Full back elevator! WATCH THAT COLLECTIVE!!!!

As time came back to normal speed, I watched (in disbelief no less) as my little Zit broke the vertical plane and for a split second paused facing the wrong way to earth (upside down), muscle memory took over and the flip continued on through to a 'normal' position sitting nicely at about 2 feet off from where the whole manuver started. I had just completed a back flip. Along came the pee to celebrate acompanied by a very bad case of the shakes. Had to land, sat in the grass next to my heli and tried to push my testicles outta my stomach. By the way I did pee myself....

I am so very stoked! I'm gonna go out and do it again soon as I get outta work!!!

Congrats ATB!!!

I also had the SHAKES this morning for the maiden flight of my 500, no leaks though.
I had flipped my MX300 (once was an AXE CP) several months ago, scared myself STUPID! Had a simular reaction as you after it landed, the shakes, soiled myself, followed up by 1/2 pack of cigarettes & several wobbily-pops!

Nose in is easy just remember you are inside the heli sitting in the pilot seat.

Good job man,

I did my first flips and rolls just a few days ago myself, what a great feeling :-)

As previous poster said, nose-in isnt that hard, start with side in and gradually go a little further each time. You can also try to do some slow piro, then stop a few secs while in nose-in orientation, by doing this you'll soon get the feeling of the controls while in nose-in orientation.

You can also simply practice to just take off in nose-in position.

Gratz for your flip and keep up practicing!
