Status: offline 		Does anyone know of another brand of main rotor blades that will work on the Blade CP?

E-flight blades are expensive compared to some other brands I have seen ...Esky for example.

They don't look any different to me in pictures and I was wondering if any others would work because one little strike and the wooden blades are toast...I am on my 4th set.

Also would the carbon blades be that much more durable to justify the 29.95 cost

Status: offline 		i use the plastic flats, but expect to replace alot of tail booms if you are still learning. kinda a pain but still cheaper than buying new blades

Status: offline 		Do a search for HD1141 blades.

They are used on the HB heli's and fit the blades
just fine.

They are flat bottom painted wood blades and are
very strong for wood.

They make your heli super stable....

also ...it looks like other parts may be used...if anybody knows please list them

also jfast..do you know the part number for the plastics....all i have seen is wooden and carbon...thanks

Thanks for the tip...I have also been looking for an alternative to the expensive Eflite blades...I am currently flying with the Eflite symmetrical blades....so these should make for a more stable heli, huh? That is always a plus for the CP/CP Pro !!

I think I'll give them a try after I try my spare set of Eflite flat bottom blades...I have been flying so long with the symmetrical blades, I have forgotten how the flat bottoms fly...any opinion on the two different blade types and which tends to be more stable? Also, it looks like the HB1141's are heavier, I would assume that would add to the stability...

Status: offline 		Well the HD1141 blades have worked great for me. I ordered two sets
last summer and one set has been working for me great. I still have
the other set waiting for when I break the first set...if ever.

The HD1141's make the heli lift off much sooner at a much lower
headspeed so the heli is not so twitchy.

I tried the symetrical blades and didn't like them. To expensive and
to twitchy....

But I don't do 3-D either. I imagine you should be able to loop with
them if you start out really high..

I'm looking for a cheap HH Gyro now. I've been fllying with the stock
Rate gyro and it keeps my left hand to busy.

I might try this one: only 32 Bux....

Thanks for the input...after reading your post, it got me wondering....I have a set of Eflite flat bottoms just sitting here, brand new. I slapped them on, just out of curiousity...I have been flying with symmetricals for quite some time now...and man, what a difference! It made the CP Pro much, much more stable, and as you said, exactly, it lifts off much sooner, and is flying around with much less head speed, which = better stability...

I got kinda carried away, and dinged them up a little, but they are fine with a little tape. I am definately going to get some of the HD1141's !! I really appreciate the tip...it really makes the CP Pro fun to fly again!

I have the Eflite G110 gyro on mine, and I have had good luck with it, the tail is pretty well locked, but it's not perfect all the time... but it sure is better than the stock gyro built into the 3 in 1, for sure! The biggest issue, of course is the tail motors...they don't last too long. I recently replaced mine, and the tail is behaving very, very well for a CP Pro! I still fly mine every day...and I love it. Sure, it's somewhat unstable, and has a mind of it's own sometimes, but that is good, it keeps me on my toes! I also have a couple of B400's, and practicing with the little CP Pro really helps me with the bigger birds; they seem so much more stable when I first fly the CPP, and then the B400... I have to honestly say that flying the CPP has helped my B400 flying!

Good luck with that gyro, should you end up getting it!

The Eflite gyro was a big improvement on my CPP...and the DX6i...those two things make it so much nicer to fly!

Status: offline 		I agree the best thing I ever did was buy buy DX7, once you have a decent radio everything else falls into place, it flies better, or you can tune it to fly how you want it.

One cool thing I did was since the DX7 has 3 idle positions I made normal->normal, Idle up 1- Idle up, and idle up 2- fixed pitch, meaning it always has about 8 degrees of pitch.

The one thing you find out is how the pitch affects the stability, it tends to take off in a back and right when you have fixed pitch. So you have to trim or just account for such.

I liked the feel of the syms better than the flats, to each his/her own. If you take off the bell hiller mixers too, things will get even more stable, then you are basically flying my old bird, a modded Blade CP with gyro, tho I added brushless to CP radio not Cp pro.


have fun, just more suggestions for stability.

Thanks for the input/advice, that is also something I have been considering, what exacty do I need parts wise to go back to hiller only mixing? I would be interested in possibly going that route, as I have no plans whatsoever for any 3D/aerobatic flight for this little bird...I just like to toss it out there for practice for the B400, makes me sharper, I think... on the other hand, I don't want to be totally twitchy either, I like some stablility.

Just ordered 3 sets of the HD1141's from Heli Direct, can't beat the price, $8.00 a set! I am certain that I want to use flat bottoms from here on out, and these seem like the best deal/durability...thanks again for the tip!
